What are some of the best things about Disney movies? The incredible characters for sure, the heart-warming moments, the pivotal and inspirational messages, well of course. But I think one thing that truly makes some of the most beloved Disney movies of all time, are the original songs.

The songs we sang to day- in and day- out growing up. The ones we reference when college life becomes just a little too much and we instead imagine ourselves in a jungle singing about "no worries." These songs, even as we are all grown-up, relate to us. They ease our minds and eradicate our stresses.

Sound familiar? Yes, because spring break is supposed to do the very same thing. So how do you make the two go hand and hand? Try incorporating some of these classic songs into your road trip playlist for a childhood nostalgic and fun jam session.

1. "Hakuna Matata" -The Lion King

Try this song when everyone in the car starts to get a little grumpy or your driver is stressed because they may or may not have missed your bathroom exit. Maybe the last one for the next 30 minutes or so. All together now "it means no worries for the rest of your days/ It's our problem free/ philosophy/ Hakuna Matata."

2. "I'll Make A Man Out Of You" - Mulan

If you have managed to get through even a single study/homework session and not started by singing "let's get down to business to defeat the Huns", you are need of a refresher of the famous "Mulan' war-camp montage song.

3. "Part Of Your World" - The Little Mermaid

Everyone grew up singing "Up where they walk/ up where they run/ up where they stay all day in the sun/ wandering free/ wish I could be, part of your world." And, it seems pretty fitting for students who have been dreaming of being on the beach since coming back from Christmas break.

4. "Go The Distance" - Hercules

Yes we can go the distance. Endure the 12 plus hour drive to get away from textbooks, lecture halls, and if you're from the North or Midwest, snow. "I know every mile/ will be worth my while."

5. "Love Is An Open Door" - Frozen

If you have both girls and guys in the car you can have a pretty awesome group duet of Anna and Hans' iconic romance hit. Either way it's one of the best songs of "Frozen" and is a perfect way to wake everyone up when the drive begins to get a little tiresome.

6. "You're Welcome" - Moana

You really can't go wrong with any songs from the Moana soundtrack, even "Shiny". But Dwayne Johnson's "You're Welcome" is the one that played repeatedly in our heads and prevented us from responding to someone saying "thank you" in any other way than with "what can I say except you're welcome."

7. "In Summer" -Frozen

College has us all ready to be "relaxing in the summer sun / just lettin' off steam."

8. "Almost There" - The Princess And The Frog

Let the car rejoice and sing "Almost There" when you're road trip is reaching its end. "Trials and tribulations/ I've had my share/ there ain't nothing gonna stop me now / cause I'm almost there."

For those long nights that turn into mornings when the struggle is real.

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.

I know every college student has daily thoughts throughout their day. Whether you're walking on campus or attending class, we always have thoughts running a mile a minute through our heads. We may be wondering why we even showed up to class because we'd rather be sleeping, or when the professor announces that we have a test and you have an immediate panic attack.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate

"A Christmas Story" is the star on top of the tree.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate

One staple of the Christmas season is sitting around the television watching a Christmas movie with family and friends. But of the seemingly hundreds of movies, which one is the star on the tree? Some share stories of Santa to children ("Santa Claus Is Coming to Town"), others want to spread the Christmas joy to adults ("It's a Wonderful Life"), and a select few are made to get laughs ("Elf"). All good movies, but merely ornaments on the Christmas tree of the best movies. What tops the tree is a movie that bridges the gap between these three movies, and makes it a great watch for anyone who chooses to watch it. Enter the timeless Christmas classic, "A Christmas Story." Created in 1983, this movie holds the tradition of capturing both young and old eyes for 24 straight hours on its Christmas Day marathon. It gets the most coverage out of all holiday movies, but the sheer amount of times it's on television does not make it the greatest. Why is it,
then? A Christmas Story does not try to tell the tale of a Christmas miracle or use Christmas magic to move the story. What it does do though is tell the real story of Christmas. It is relatable and brings out the unmatched excitement of children on Christmas in everyone who watches. Every one becomes a child again when they watch "A Christmas Story."
