Songs In Real Life: Hilary Duff

So we all love Hilary Duff. We can never lose our love for Lizzie McGuire, am I right? From the show to her later acting endeavors, we supported her through and through. She ruled the world with appearances on Gossip Girl and crushed hearts in Agent Cody Banks with Frankie Munez. When she produced album after album, we couldn't stop singing along to each single and neither could MTV when they used “Sweet Sixteen" as the theme song for their reality show My Super Sweet Sixteen. So how can we honor her for her magnificence? Why not use her lyrics every chance that we get? It's not even that hard!

1. So Yesterday

This phrase may be a little older, but there's nothing wrong with bringing back an old phrase! Vintage is in! So bring back that nostalgia by saying so yesterday. You don't like an ensemble? Ugh, that outfit is so yesterday. Over your previous #MCM? Girl, he is so yesterday. The possibilities are endless!

2. Coming Clean

So obviously, this one is pretty easy. Maybe you lied about something. Or maybe you really need to take a shower— hey, I don't know your life. Either way, you can make a great statement by saying you're “coming clean." You'll enjoy making the reference.

3. Sweet Sixteen

Well, unless you're turning 16, this is irrelevant to you. But don't deny that you sang this song when you turned 16, or at least thought about it on your 16th birthday. It's no different than singing Taylor Swift's “22" on your 22nd birthday. #NoShame

4. Wake Up

Need your bff/bf/gf/roomie to wake up? Try singing wake up, wake up to make them get up. Thinking about going out on a Saturday night? Hey, it could be New York, maybe Hollywood and Vine. London, Paris, maybe Tokyo. There's something going on anywhere I go tonight. Sure it's long, but it's relevant.

5. Why Not

This one is self-explanatory. Someone asks why you want to do something? You say why not? Your friend says they don't want to go on a midnight donut adventure, you say why not, take a crazy chance?

6. What Dreams Are Made Of

The Lizzie McGuire Movie was one we couldn't forget about for a few years. Lizzie was like our best friend. What better way to relive the Lizzie days than to quote this song. If someone says “hey now" then you can say hey now, this is what dreams are made of!

7. Our Lips Are Sealed

This song may be a remake, but it still counts. Keeping a secret with your bestie? Planning a surprise for someone with one of their friends or family members? Here's your perfect response: Our lips are sealed.

We love Hilary Duff and there's no way we could ever forget some of her best songs! So come on, why not take a crazy chance? Besides, Hilary Duff knows what she's talking about.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.

Thanksgiving break is over and Christmas is just around the corner and that means, for most college students, one hellish thing — finals week. It's the one time of year in which the library becomes over populated and mental breakdowns are most frequent. There is no way to avoid it or a cure for the pain that it brings. All we can do is hunker down with our books, order some Dominos, and pray that it will all be over soon. Luckily, we are not alone in this suffering. To prove it, here are just a few of the many deranged thoughts that go through a college student's mind during finals week.

I know every college student has daily thoughts throughout their day. Whether you're walking on campus or attending class, we always have thoughts running a mile a minute through our heads. We may be wondering why we even showed up to class because we'd rather be sleeping, or when the professor announces that we have a test and you have an immediate panic attack.
