There’s a comfort that comes to you when you’re driving at night either on an unfamiliar road as you make your way back from a road trip, or driving around the city you were born in. The comfort comes looking out the window up at the moon and the twinkling stars, with the window down and the wind whisking through your hair. Basically, imagine you’re at the end of a movie, right before the credits start rolling and you’ve just figured out whatever problem the movie surrounded… that’s the feeling I’m talking about. The only things that make this feeling, this comfort better is when you have great music playing in the background. This is a list of a few of my favorite songs to listen to while driving at night.

1. The Sound -- The 1975

This is easily one of the best songs on this list, especially if you have somebody to scream out the lyrics and do odd dance moves in the passenger seat with you.

2. Pompeii -- Bastille

It's a must when you listen to this sound that first, you use the steering wheel as a drum. (In the safest way possible.) Second, you sing the song in a British accent.

3. Dog Days Are Over -- Florence + the Machine

This song will never not make me feel happy. This is the perfect song to sing dramatically or just stare up at the stars to.

4. It's Time -- Imagine Dragons

You know that song that just makes you emotional every time you hear it, but in a good way? That's this song to me.

5. Good Life -- OneRepublic

This song makes me want to throw clothes in a suitcase and go to cities I've never been to before, countries I've never seen, and become friends with people I don't even know yet.

6. Kids -- Mikkey Ekko

You know that song that plays at the end of a movie when a group of best friends all have their arms around each other and their walking somewhere and the camera begins to zoom out and then the credits slam up on the screen? This is that kind of song.

7. Sweet Disposition -- The Temper Trap

I'm not quite sure what it is about this song that makes it so wonderful. You just have to listen to it and you'll know why I can't explain in words how amazing this song is.

8. This Feelin' -- Vincent Steele

This song starts out slow, brings in a steady clap beat with the occasional "tssh-ahh" and "ohh," and eventually brings in the uplifting chorus that just brings my heart all kinds of joy.

9. Mind Over Matter -- Young the Giant

I could listen to this song on repeat for 25 years and it would never get old.

10. Wait -- M83

This one is definitely one of the slowest and not necessarily an "uplifting" songs on this list. But. it's the perfect song to have playing in the background as you fall asleep in the passenger seat.

11. Dangerous Times -- Wildlife

This song is perfect for imagining your steering wheel is a guitar and strumming along.

12. Castle on the Hill -- Ed Sheeran

\

Ed Sheeran's newest single is a must on this list. This song feels like home, happiness, and growing up all wrapped into one. It's bound to bring you feelings of nostalgia.

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

Sister | Brother Style - Word Press

For a moment your world is spinning. The phone alarm has just scared you awake and you’re flooded by daunting thoughts of the day ahead. You have three assignments due and little time to work on them because of your job. You’re running late because you’ve hit snooze one to many times after yesterday’s long hours. You dizzily reach for a hoodie, craving its comfort, and rush for a speedy exit, praying you will have time to pick up coffee. Does this sound familiar?

Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week. For some students, it's their first time in the library all semester, maybe ever. Others have slaved away many nights under the fluorescent lights, and are slightly annoyed to find their study space being invaded by amateurs. While these newbies wander aimlessly around the first floor, hopelessly trying to find a table, the OGs of the library are already on the third floor long tables deep into their studies. Here is a few signs that you may live in the library, whether you'd like to admit it or not.
