1. "Hey Brother" by Avicii

This song made the list because I have personally devoted it to my two precious brothers. If you have ever listened to this song, you could see why. It is a very touching song, and I love it.

2. "Beer For My Horses" by Toby Keith

HAHA, this song is one of those that takes me back to my childhood...and honestly, I couldn't tell you why. I vaguely remember this one time I and my cousin Baylee sang this and the next song in my living room when we were little. Honestly, don't ask. I really don't even know.

3. "Redneck Woman" by Gretchen Wilson

This one was MY ANTHEM as a little girl. I know for a 100% fact that every time this song would play it was a full-on concert by me featuring me. Also, I'm pretty sure Baylee and I performed this in my living room too.

4. "Soak Up the Sun" by Sheryl Crow

I will never not love this song. This was and still is mine and my aunt's song. She played this song for little baby me a long, long time ago and it has been ours ever since. I love you Manda!

5. "Father and Daughter" by Paul Simon

I used to watch 'The Wild Thornberry's' religiously, and on one of the movies, this song plays. My dad used to lay down with me every night and we would either watch that or Fear Factor. This song has always had a very special place in my heart.

6. "The House That Built Me" by Miranda Lambert

I have a "house that built me". It was first my dad's parents house, then my parent's house. That house was in our family for years and years. All of my cousins that I was closest to live just a short walk or bike ride away. That house surely built me, and I will forever cherish the memories made there.

7. "Airstream Song" by Miranda Lambert

Okay, this one is on here because there is a camper business in my family, but most importantly it's on here because I was a true gypsy in another life. Just saying.

8. "When the Sun Goes Down" by Kenny Chesney

My mom and I would JAM to this on the daily. Kenny Chesney was our favorite guy!

9. "Boondocks" by Little Big Town

This song just reminds me of my childhood, and where I grew up. Riding bikes and playing in the mud with my cousins was kinda the highlight of my life.

10. "Take Me Home, Country Roads" by John Denver

I have West by God Virginia in my blood. This song takes me home every time. Most of my heart remains in West Virginia with some of my all-time favorite people in the world.

And this, ladies and gentleman, is my life summed up in ten songs!

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

For a moment your world is spinning. The phone alarm has just scared you awake and you’re flooded by daunting thoughts of the day ahead. You have three assignments due and little time to work on them because of your job. You’re running late because you’ve hit snooze one to many times after yesterday’s long hours. You dizzily reach for a hoodie, craving its comfort, and rush for a speedy exit, praying you will have time to pick up coffee. Does this sound familiar?

Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week. For some students, it's their first time in the library all semester, maybe ever. Others have slaved away many nights under the fluorescent lights, and are slightly annoyed to find their study space being invaded by amateurs. While these newbies wander aimlessly around the first floor, hopelessly trying to find a table, the OGs of the library are already on the third floor long tables deep into their studies. Here is a few signs that you may live in the library, whether you'd like to admit it or not.
