I have decided that I am going to start picking out my favorite songs from each week and share it all with you and my thoughts. So without further adieu, I give you my first song of the week: Torn by Bonnie x Clyde and PURGE.

Bonnie x Clyde is one of my favorite up and coming artists due to the raw energy and power you feel in their songs and live shows. Bonnie's gorgeous yet chilling vocals go hand in hand with their heavy. driven bass creating what can only be described as vocal dubstep/trap. Bonnie x Clyde have been blowing up the past year making huge moves playing more shows and festival that I can count. They also released the Wanted EP earlier this year and it is definitely worth a listen.

Purge is a dark bass superstar duo that emerged quickly with their dark and deep bass that has had releases on OWLSA, Bitbird, and Nest HQ. They are an amazingly powerful duo that bends the lines of genre and makes music that gives you the goosebumps and the headbanging all within the span of a few minutes.

The song starts in a solum quieter toon and suddenly the vocals come in, right in the front and undeniably enchanting. The back tune of Torn has some weird and cool sounds going on which helps the song build. There isn't a drop but more of a pause then a continuation of the bass line driving the song until it returns to a lull. The vocals pick back up as Bonnie lyrics lead us to believe that she is feeling freer than before, and with the bass keeping a low yet heavy profile, it allows for the other unique sounds, including the vocals, to have more of an impact and stand out. The song is great with a different flow from other musicians and the vocals make the song into a powerful message.

"We all deal with the feeling of being torn in some way or another. Torn is about expressing your true, raw feelings & coming to terms with them. Understanding it's ok to need help & to not be ok all the time." – BonnieXClyde

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

19 Lessons I'll Never Forget from Growing Up In a Small Town

There have been many lessons learned.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
