Helene Fischer “Atemlos Durch Die Nacht” (“Breathless through the Night”)
My personal favorite song, it has romance and a fun beat. While it may not be a full club thumper, you will hear it in the clubs. It is all about falling in love and staying in love, even if it is for a night. The lyrics might be a little bit more complicated, but never worry, you can sing along to the ooh-ohs, ooh-ohs, ahs and just scream “Atemlos durch die Nacht!”

Would you like to be dramatic? May I suggest this song? With piano and climax, it will have you rocking out in your bedroom. It is a slow burn, and you’ll be humming, quietly singing, and then pretending to be Adele. It’s a beautiful love song, but it will make you hurt on the inside. The lyrics are short and straightforward, so don’t be concerned.

Tay Schmedtmann “Lauf Baby Lauf” (“Run Baby Run”)
While I give you no English lyrics, it’s not necessarily a hard song. There are only two words you need to know: lauf and baby. Lauf is to run. Baby is the same in English. The other repeated phrase is “Gibt alles, nur gibt nicht auf,” which translates basically “Give everything, but not all” or something close to that. Uplifting, yes. Easy, yes.

Nena “99 Luftballoons” (“99 Airballoons”)
To be honest, you’ve probably heard this song before. I remember singing the English version when I was in elementary school. It’s definitely got the 80’s going for it, and you can even learn numbers. By the way, in German, instead of ninety-nine, it’s nine-and-ninety.

Namika “Lieblingsmensche” (“Favorite People”)
Time for a challenge. How quickly can you speak German? Even to some of the most trained, it’s time to give the tongue a workout. Unlike the rest of the songs on this list, it is “slower” with a more drawn out tone. While it is still fun and has a nice beat, it will be stuck in your head for hours.

Revolverheld “Lass Uns Gehen” (“Let’s Go”)
Would you like a party anthem? In this song, it’s time to be uplifting and travel, which means you learn Germany’s geography. Young love or best friends, it’s time to go on a journey and maybe not come back. Who could want more?

Glasperlenspiel “Moment” (“Moment”)
Time to get up and dance while singing about romance. Whether it is failed or growing, it is about thinking of your own love. It is time to be dramatic and dance around weirdly while jumping. The lyrics easily repeat and you get to know how to ask questions.
