That was the exact time I first heard the song that changed my life from that moment on...not physically, but mentally, emotionally, and spiritually.

"Reckless Love" by Cory Asbury was released last year through Bethel Music, but I had never heard it before. Maybe for a reason I'll never know, but I guess you can't hear every song ever written in the entire world, right? The lyrics read these words:

"Oh the overwhelming, never-ending, reckless love of God,
Oh it chases me down, fights ‘til I’m found, leaves the ninety-nine,
I couldn’t earn it, I don’t deserve it, still You give Yourself away,
Oh the overwhelming, never-ending, reckless love of God."

For two weeks since I have heard this song for the first, I've stumbled and tossed the words, "reckless love" around...but since then, I have realized that I can't comprehend this reckless love in my mind, but I can do my absolute best to wake up and decide to love recklessly because John 4:19 states, "We love because he first loved us."

Hearing this song, and listening to the words really made me realize that love truly is the greatest commandment that God instructs us to partake in.

The love that God shows us is for every single person on this Earth to experience despite who you are, what you've done, or where you come from. When I think of God's love, honestly I can't even fathom it...because this is the same love that has turned the world upside down and hearts inside out. Honestly, whether you have never heard or experience the love of God or have known it for all 21 years of your life like me, the love of God is absolutely perfect for you.

The fact that Jesus would leave the ninety-nine for that ONE..that ONE who is lost and searching for a way out of the pain they experience when all they can think in their mind is that there is not a single place left to turn or hide. This song doesn't talk about how God Himself is reckless, but how the way He loves is.

God loves despite the fact that every single day people chose to turn their backs and reject Him.

God loves without any strings attached.

God loves even through every trial we go through day in and day out.

God simply gives Himself away on the chances that some of us, or even just one of us might look back at Him and offer ourselves in return...but no matter what happens throughout our lives and no matter what mindset we choose to have, God will always be be right there welcoming us back with open arms...and that my friends, is beautiful.

It's the most wonderful time of the year! Christmas is one of my personal favorite holidays because of the Christmas traditions my family upholds generation after generation. After talking to a few of my friends at college, I realized that a lot of them don't really have "Christmas traditions" in their family, and I want to help change that. Here's a list of Christmas traditions that my family does, and anyone can incorporate into their family as well!

It’s here; that time of year when college students turn into preschoolers again. We cry for our mothers, eat everything in sight, and whine when we don’t get our way. Everyone has to take them, and yes, unfortunately, they are inevitable. But just because they are here and inevitable does not mean they’re peaches and cream and full of rainbows. Surviving them is a must, and the following five phases are a reality for all majors from business to art, nursing to history.
