Sometimes You Just Have To Jam Out

Jamming out is good for the soul. I promise.

Sometimes You Just Have To Jam Out
Bret Hartman / CBS

There comes a time in your life when all you need is a good jam session. You can jam to your favorite songs or songs you pretend to hate just so you’ll feel better about yourself. I recommend that you do a little of both, it’s more freeing. Jam sessions are probably my favorite thing ever. There’s nothing better than singing your lungs out, even when you know you definitely don’t have the voice of an angel and will definitely never make a career out of singing.

It’s the feeling of not caring that really makes it that much better. As I said in my last article, I’ve learned how to just not care about what other people think. So when I jam, I jam hard. Most of my friends seem to love jamming with me or just watching me jam, so I’m usually not to worried about what they’re thinking. After all, jam sessions are best when they’re with your friends and you’re all having a great time. Sometimes I even jam in public because I’m just living my life and I want to have a good time. Jamming gets me out of a bad mood almost instantly, it’s my weakness. I have trouble not jamming because I do it so much. It’s just so fun!

Jam sessions make car rides more interesting, that's why James Corden does it so much. My favorite thing about road trips or just long car rides in general is the jam session that comes along with them. I love listening to all of my favorite songs at once and just enjoying the music. I feel like I can jam to anything. I jam to fast songs, slow songs, and songs that are in the middle. I will scream them out depending on the tempo. If you haven’t belted out the lyrics to your favorite songs at the top of your longs yet, are you even living? Probably, but not the life I want to live. It’s such a nice feeling to scream your favorite lyrics like they’re the most important thing in the world. Sometimes they are.

Music can tell a story and sometimes it relates to your life, which is what makes it so cool. Other times it’s just a really good beat and fun to sing along to even if you don’t care for the meaning behind the lyrics. Regardless of the reason you like the song, jamming is always a good time. It’s all about loving life and enjoying music which everyone should do more of. It is such a pure feeling of joy, and one of the only ones I have yet to find. Jam sessions always make me happy because I have so much fun. I get to be myself and sing and dance ridiculously to music I love, so I do it whenever I have the opportunity.

Jam sessions are good for the soul. Sometimes you just need a good jam session to forget about any negative things going on in your life. When I jam, I forget about everything else happening around me and just live for the music. So try it out. Have a jam session with yourself or with your friends. Sing as loud as you can and feel the happiness that comes along with it. This may sound ridiculous, but it really can help you. This is one of the behaviors that helped make me a happier person. Music is already amazing without a jam session, so make it that much better by adding on some possibly horrific singing with it. I promise you won’t regret it.
