Sometimes There Is No Sign

The relevance of this miraculous story didn't lie in the miracle, it lied in the demand of proof.

The famous story of Jesus feeding the four thousand with seven loaves a bread and a few small fishes is miraculous but for me those were not the eye opening verses of Mark, chapter 8. Jesus is full of miracles, so that was no surprise, but what was eye opening is what happens after He fed the four thousand and sent them on their way. Starting at verse 11 the Pharisees approached Jesus and demanded a sign (proving that He is the Christ).

"...And the Pharisees came forth, and began to question with him, seeking of him a sign from heaven, tempting him. 12 And he sighed deeply in his spirit, and saith, Why doth this generation seek after a sign? verily I say unto you, There shall no sign be given unto this generation.13 And he left them, and entering into the ship again departed to the other side." Mark 8:11-13

This verse is extremely relevant with the times we are in spiritually. We are constantly looking for signs when all He wants us to do is just believe and have faith in Him and what He can and will do. There will not always be signs given because God/Jesus has no one to prove Himself to and if we believe that He does, we will find Him entering the ship and departing (away from us) to the other side. This verse has taught me to not question the miracles and plan of God; to just simply have faith. Even if it makes no sense.

College is filled with many things, and we're so often lectured to make the right decisions as we head out on our own into the college life. But sometimes it's necessary to indulge in some guilty pleasures as well as just doing things because you can. And honestly, a lot of the time it's inevitable. College is no piece of cake that's for sure, so it's okay to do some things you deep down know you shouldn't....once in a while anyways.
