Sometimes all we need is
A little sunlight.
It makes even the darkest
Corners of life,
Suddenly seem bright.
And I can’t help but drown in its
Warm, blinding embrace.
It passes right through
The windows of my soul,
Tells my brain that I’m safe,
And fills my heart with pure love.
Turns golden my hair
And reminds me that light—
Will always break through
Darkness;
For there is still sunlight
Amidst rain-filled clouds.
The rain must fall before
The sun can come out.
And think I am odd,
But it seems as though,
Passed on loved ones,
Reach down from
The heavens, and
Kiss my cheeks
Through warm
Rays of light.
Yes, sometimes,
All it is
That we need,
Is a little
Sunlight.
