Ever since I was a little girl there was one major rule that you could not break, that is, don't ever bring up politics or religion at any dinner table. I never understood it until one night I witnessed one of my friends family having a conniption over Obama becoming president in his first term. From there on, I actually decided that staying out of politics might be the better way out.
In high school, every student had to take Government and Economics. So most of us do know a thing or two about politics, but what I will never fathom is why picking a specific political party differs you from someone else. I know so many families who won't let a democrat/republican in their home. Why is this though?
Why do we care if you are a democrat or republican? Can't we all be equal? I don't want to disrespect anyone who is really into politics, trust me on that. Now that it is "Voting Season" everyone is arguing about who is going to be president. I've heard people not wanting Clinton to win just because she is a woman and women are not emotionally stable to hold such a high position, but I've also heard that Trump doesn't deserve it because he has been bankrupt numerous time. We can't all have our way, some will be happy, others will be enraged by the outcome. We can not change it, get over it.
Many did not like the thought of Obama becoming president, but before he was president and during his first term, gas was nearly up to three dollars, now it is under two. His approval ratings have actually sky rocketed now. Many who used to despise Obama, have not accepted him! Whether it is Clinton, Trump, or even Bernie, we are just going to have to give them time and home that they are a good president.
Of course I have my beliefs which can sometimes make people believe I am towards a specific party, but I have just been through so many arguments with people over controversial issues and realized we all just need to agree to disagree.
I am not saying we should just neglect politics, but we should make which party we are in such a huge priority. If anything we should be trying to help fix our home of the USA, not try to rip it down the middle because none of us can agree on anything.
