Sometimes all it takes is one Caring Person.

In life, it's always good to have that one Caring Person. That one person to look after you, help you, guide you, as well, support you. I think everyone at some point in their life, needs at least one person. No matter who it may be.

When we have one Caring Person in our life, we know we can do anything because we have that person behind us telling us that they believe in us and they know we can do it, even if we say we can can't. I'm blessed to have a person like that in my life. Mama Merritt, Thank you for being a Caring person in my life. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart.

Thank you, for always treating me like I'm your daughter , or supporting me, loving on me, watching me grow. Thank you for helping me with Math, when I needed it, thank you for challenging me, to try harder. Thank you for allowing me to joke with you, thank you for laughing with me, for comforting me when I'm in tears.

Thank you for being apart of my life, letting me give you a hug at Graduation after four years of countless hours telling you I couldn't or I needed help. Thank you for being there when no one else was.

Thank you for being the first to comfort me when my parents separated and because I didn't want anyone else to know

that I was gonna cry and I knew you wouldn't judge me for having to cry out loud because of what just happened. I just knew, that you'd be by my side to comfort me, tell me that everything was gonna be alright.

Thank you, Mama Merritt. Thank you for continuing to support me now, thank you for being that one true role model in my life, a person who I know I can look up to no matter what. Thank you for being my sister in Christ, loving on Jesus with me. It's because of you I know, I'm never alone because I have your Caring and loving spirit in my life.

Thank you. ❤️

There are plenty of obstacles that come when taking care of kids, but it's a very rewarding experience.

As a college student, being a nanny over the summer is both enjoyable and challenging. Underneath the seemingly perfect trips to the pool or countless hours spent playing Monopoly are the obstacles that only nannies will understand. Trading in your valuable summer vacation in return for three months spent with a few children less than half your age may seem unappealing, but so many moments make it rewarding. For my fellow summer nannies out there, I know you can relate.

There are a lot of really easy, common names in the U.S. and while many of those simple names have different spellings, most of the time, pronunciation is not an issue that those people need to worry about. However, others are not as fortunate and often times give up on corrections after a while. We usually give an A+ for effort. So, as you could probably imagine, there are a few struggles with having a name that isn’t technically English. Here are just a few…

Daydreaming

day·dream (ˈdāˌdrēm/): a series of pleasant thoughts that distract one's attention from the present.

Daydreams, the savior of our life in class. Every type of student in the classroom does it at least once, but most cases it is an everyday event, especially in that boring class -- you know the one. But what are we thinking while we are daydreaming?

Puerto Ricans. They are very proud people and whether they were born on the island or born in the United States by Puerto Rican parent(s). It gets even better when they meet another fellow Puerto Rican or Latino in general. You’ll know quickly if they are Puerto Rican whether the flag is printed somewhere on their person or whether they tell you or whether the famous phrase “wepa!” is said.

If it hurts now, it'll hurt again. Not because you're gullible or naive, only because you fall fast, hard, and you do it every time.

We fall each and every time with the complete and utter confidence that someone will be there to catch us. Now that person we SWORE we were never going to fall for has our hearts, and every time we see them our palms start sweating. The butterflies in our stomach start to soar and our hearts are entirely too close to bursting out of our chests.
