Time Is Of The Essence

But, one thing I always come back to is what I've realized is the most valuable thing in life--time.

Life is a crazy thing. One day you're a kid going to school and riding your bike to see your friends and the next day you're a teenager getting your permit. Then the next moment you're on your way to college. Before you know it you're an adult getting married. In another split second you're raising a family. Throughout life people value many different things. Some value the material things they've earned, some value how financially successful they have become, and others value how happy they think they are compared to others around them. Personally I think life is such an abstract thing to think about that there's so many ways to think about the whole of it. But, one thing I always come back to is what I've realized is the most valuable thing in life--time. Life is a journey. On your journey you experience different relationships, jobs, and obstacles. Many people are too caught up thinking about the past or the future that they forget to live in the moment and value the time now. My best advice is to start making the best out of every moment. Spend time with friends and family. Do things that scare you. Don't get too caught up in worrying about things that happened or will happen. Most importantly, live every day to its fullest because you never know which day is your last.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.
