10 Frustrating Moments All Servers Have Experienced

I work at a small Italian Restaurant, and I really enjoy it. The people that I work with are great, and the customers who come in are friendly. However, even though I love my job, there are some times that I just want to pull my hair out because of some of the problems that come up. Here are 10 struggles that I have witnessed while being in the restaurant business.

1. When a customer asks for a straw while you are still in the process of placing their drinks on the table.

2. When a customer asks to change tables during a rush

3. When you ask a table a question and they just stare at you

4. When you bring the customer what they ordered and they say "I didn't order this"

5. When you get a really nice table, but they do not leave a tip

6. When you get five tables at once

7. When a co-worker calls in sick and leaves you short handed

8. When your boss hires someone new and you can already tell they are not going to make it

9. When a table comes in 5 minutes before you close

10. When a baby starts crying in the middle of the restaurant

For the entirety of my high school career, I was always seen as the goody-two-shoes. I never got in trouble with a teacher, I kept stellar grades, and when I wasn't doing extracurricular activities, I was at home studying. Even when I did go out, it was usually with a bunch of fellow band geeks. The night would end before 11:00 PM and the only controversial activity would be a fight based on who unfairly won a round of Apples-to-Apples when someone else clearly had a better card (I promise I'm not still holding a grudge).

Now that I'm officially an adult, I want to pursue some new things. I want to experience life in a way that I never allowed myself to do prior to entering college. These are the years that I'm supposed to embark on a journey of self-discovery, so what better way to do that than to create a bucket list?
