I'm going to come right out and say it: Some people suck.
It's just how it is. Some people are impervious to the world around them to the point they don't realize how they affect others. Some people are solely focused on themselves, putting others down in the process. Some people are caught up in the hatred of the world, succumbing to violence and desperation. Some people are flat out rude, unapologetic, unthinking and unconcerned for others. Some people suck.
So let's not be one of those people.
In a world consumed by hatred and fueled by fear, it is easy to succumb to the malicious ways of the people that surround us. It is easy to succumb to the negative thoughts that result in negative actions. It is easy to succumb to thinking solely about oneself, ignoring all others.
So let's not do that.
Acts of kindness are an extremely underrated form of bringing good vibes back into the world. An act of kindness can be the simplest thing of holding the door for someone or offering an extra hand, or can be of greater lengths like doing something inconvenient to make the life of someone else better. All it takes is a tiny ounce of effort and the result can change a person's aspect for the rest of the day. We often hear of the term, pay it forward. This is an ongoing idea that if and when a person does an act of kindness in your favor, you, in turn, fulfill an act of kindness in the favor of someone else.
I am sure that by now, most everyone has seen the video of the man ranting after he kindly paid for the car behind him at Taco Bell, then afterwards realizing that the check came out to be $50. If you have not seen it, go watch it because it is pretty funny. I mean, who orders fifty dollars worth of Taco Bell? Anyways, the point is, that man fulfilled an act of kindness for the car behind him. Think about that car, with that ungodly Taco Bell ticket, and how happy and blessed they probably felt once realizing their ticket had been paid for. Also, the man who paid has some extremely good karma coming his way.
No matter what act of kindness you choose to fulfill, whether small or large, the impact it will have will be double. The impact will influence the continuance of kindness throughout the community. The impact will grant one warm fuzzies and warm the hearts of those who see. The impact can change someone's day, someone's heart, someone's way of thinking.
So let's stop this never ending cycle in which people suck. Let's fulfill random acts of kindness to brighten each other's days. Some people suck, but we don't have to be like those people.
