"Things we lose have a way of coming back to us in the end, if not always in the way we expect." -- Luna Lovegood
On Friday, Oct. 23, 2015, producers announced the first ever "Harry Potter" play. This two-part play begins right after the last magical scene in the final "Harry Potter" installation when Harry is waving goodbye to his two oldest children, James and Albus, as they embark on their journey to Hogwarts.
Here’s a synopsis: “It was always difficult being Harry Potter and it isn’t much easier now that he is an overworked employee of the Ministry of Magic, a husband and father of three school-age children.
While Harry grapples with the past that refuses to stay where it belongs, his youngest son, Albus, must struggle with the weight of a family legacy he never wanted. As past and present fuse ominously, both father and son learn the uncomfortable truth: sometimes, darkness comes from unexpected places.”
This brand-new story, written by Jack Thorne and directed by John Tiffany in collaboration with J.K. Rowling, shows the play in two parts “due to the ‘epic nature of the story’ and will feature a cast of over 30 actors to be announced later”.
Tickets go on sale Wednesday, Oct. 28, to those who registered online, and then to the general public on Oct. 30. The tickets range from $31 to $200, and the performances will be shown July 30, 2016, at London’s Palace Theatre, with previews beginning on June 7, 2016.
Opinion: I think that because Daniel Radcliffe (Harry Potter) has been a big hit on Broadway this will bring a whole new wave of Potter fans. I think that after this play Harry Potter will be looked at in a new way and there will be more "Potter Heads" than ever before! Harry is holding true to his name:
The Boy Who Lived
