We might not want to admit it, but inside we know we have done this all.

I have grown up in an environment where softball is the main course. Every day of the week is spent in the gym, on the field, and making sure I excel in the classroom. Once school was let out the real fun always began. Every weekend was spent getting up early, traveling to new places, playing games all day, and sleeping in hotels. From spending the majority of my life surrounded by a bunch of girls who love the sport I do, I have learned a bunch of things. One, being that there are distinct features that softball girls hold. Here are just a few:

1. Bad tan lines

I have yet to meet a single girl who doesn't have horrible tan lines. The most common are the v from the neck of the jerseys, the sleeve lines, and the infamous raccoon eyes from wearing sun glasses. Although we always swear we put on sun screen, the rays always seem to win.

2. We can eat

We don't mess around. I have witnessed first hand my team clear out more than one buffet on multiple occasions. Food is no joke. And surprisingly enough, it's the smallest girls who can take on the most.

3. Not being happy unless we're covered head to toe in dirt

Who said boys are the only ones that like to get dirty? A day isn't fully complete if we don't have dirt from head to toe, or grass stains on our knees. Extra bonus points if you are the dirtiest. Extra extra bonus points if it's in an all white uniform.

4. Our signature looks

Every girl has a signature look that they keep game to game. Some looks tend to vary. There are always girls on a team that rely on a heavy braid. There are girls who rock the bows, and there are always girls on a team that are fans of eye black. The trick is though, to develop a signature look and keep it consistent.

5. Always reppin our team

Even on days off, you can always find us wearing spirit wear from our individual teams. you can't find that loyalty anywhere else.

6. We appreciate baseball boys

Hey boo, I see you.

7. Sweet girls with a nasty attitude

Although it might not seem like it, even the nice girls have perfected the glare. Competition brings out the best and worst in us. Sometimes the things said on the field cannot be repeated. Especially after being hit by a pitch.

8. We clean up nicely

I have known certain teammates for years but I can never recognize them when we dress up. Despite the cut up legs and bruises, we clean up pretty good.

9. Injuries are trophies, kind of

Girls show off their bruises and scars like trophies. The nastier, the better.

In honor of Mother’s Day, I have been thinking of all the things my mom does for my family and me. Although I couldn’t write nearly all of them, here are a few things that moms do for us.

They find that shirt that’s right in front of you, but just you can’t seem to find.

10 Reasons To Thank Your Best Friend

Take the time to thank that one friend in your life you will never let go of.

Thank You on wooden blocks

1. Thank you for being the one I can always count on to be honest.

A true friend will tell you if the shirt is ugly, or at least ask to borrow it and "accidentally" burn it.

2. Thank you for accepting me for who I am.

A best friend will love you regardless of the stale french fries you left on the floor of your car, or when you had lice in 8th grade and no one wanted to talk to you.

Do as I say, not as I do.

Your eyes widen in horror as you stare at your phone. Beads of sweat begin to saturate your palm as your fingers tremble in fear. The illuminated screen reads, "Missed Call: Mom."

Growing up with strict parents, you learn that a few things go unsaid. Manners are everything. Never talk back. Do as you're told without question. Most importantly, you develop a system and catch on to these quirks that strict parents have so that you can play their game and do what you want.

"Friends" maybe didn’t have everything right or realistic all the time, but they did have enough episodes to create countless reaction GIFs and enough awesomeness to create, well, the legacy they did. Something else that is timeless, a little rough, but memorable? Living away from the comforts of home. Whether you have an apartment, a dorm, your first house, or some sort of residence that is not the house you grew up in, I’m sure you can relate to most of these!
