We all know how huge social media is for our generation. It obviously has its perks, but I've noticed some serious downfalls! Relationships nowadays are ending because of a simple "like" or "favorite." It's honestly a shame and it needs to stop. Here are some tips to help anyone in need of how to deal with your relationship while on social media! Feel free to share this with your friends and significant other.
#1 : Stay Lowkey but not Nonexistent!
You do not have to post every single thing your significant other does or doesn't do for you. It's okay if your boyfriend or girlfriend doesn't post about you all the time. It's not the end of the world I promise! Your relationship is worth so much more than a post!
#2 : Keep the fighting off of the internet!
I can't tell you how many times I've seen couples argue online. It's embarrassing and it gives everyone on the outside a chance to get into your business, and that is one thing you definitely do not want! It looks childish when you argue online, because you can definitely keep that to yourself and deal with the situation like an adult offline. Trust me, it gets kind of awkward when outsiders know all of your business!
#3 : Don't believe everything that you see online!
You can not compare your boyfriend/girlfriend to a twitter post or as we all know it as "relationship goals." You don't know what that couple had to do to make it to where they are today! You don't know what's really going on behind closed doors! Don't be depressed because your boyfriend hasn't bought you a Pandora ring. Be patient and make sure you're in a committed relationship before you even start to worry about things like that.
#4 Talk in person!
Communication is very important in a relationship. Try to talk in person to avoid confusion and further arguments from occurring!
#5 Be patient!
I know you've heard the saying, "good things come to those who wait." Don't think that you'll be instantly showered with gifts instantly in a relationship. Social media does a great job with giving people false hope. Don't get caught in the trap!
