Crisp scents in the air, cool breezes blowing, falling leaves all around. It must be that time of year again! Finally, Fall is here! Fall has always been one of my favorite seasons, for the following reasons and many more!
Apple Cider: On those fall days when it's not really cold but the world is damp and there is a chill in the air, a steaming cup of hot apple cider just warms you from the tips of your toes to you soul. Add a little cinnamon to spice it up (or Fireball, if you're of age) and I'd gladly drink it all day.
Jeans and a Hoodie! Comfort foods we all know about. However, there is also comfort clothing! I have probably 8 different hoodies and pairs of jeans, and when fall comes around, I strut my stuff all over the place in any combination I can think of! I also stay home curled up reading a good book. Regardless, having cool enough weather for jeans and a hoodie is a definite plus in my book!
Chili! Or Chicken & Noodles! Or Tomato Soup! Basically any yummy, warm, soupy liquid where you can walk into the kitchen and instantly being surrounded by the spicy warm smell of a fresh pot of heaven. Now these are Scentsy smells that I would buy!
Scarves. I might have a small addiction to scarves. Last time I counted, I had 36, and I just bought another one at the local flea market. It's like wearing a hug around your neck wherever you go. And who wouldn't want that?
Pumpkins! Pumpkin spice, pumpkin pie, pumpkin roll, carving pumpkins, roasted pumpkin seeds, pumpkins patch, pumpkin bread, painting pumpkins, pumpkin festival, pumpkin chucking contests, pumpkin ice cream, pumpkin beer. I can go on and on. Need I say more?
Bonfires! Sitting around a fire with friends, roasting hot-dogs and marshmallows, swapping stories and spending time together. Not to mention having an excuse to cuddle up next to someone special. Even if that someone special is one of your sisters or pets, and the smoke is blowing in your face (happens quite often actually) = Priceless Memories!
Fall Festivals! Be it a Pumpkin Festival, Corn Festival, or just a local Fall Festival, this is a must for Fall! These are the kinds of places where you can walk around for hours, see a ton of Festival Queens, bedazzled floats and parades, kiddie rides, get your face painted, buy (and make) hand crafted items, and binge eat all kinds of junk food, and still feel like you missed some part somehow.
Everything else! Fall is one reason after another to have get-togethers, eat lots of good food, drink a variety of hearty beverages, and make tons of memories to last you through the bitter cold winter months. If you aren't in love with fall, you obviously haven't spent enough time taking in the sights of the season, so go out there and eat, drink, and be merry! Before too long we'll be wishing you a Merry Christmas, so embrace the remaining warmth and sunshine of early fall!
