Whenever I run into an adult rather it be at the store or a restaurant, it's always the same questions, "Where are you going to college?", "What are you majoring in?", and my favorite "So, are you ready for college?" My answer is always the same "Yes ma'am/sir, excited but nervous." Although this seems like the most basic answer it is honestly the only way I can answer their basic question. After that they wish me their best, I thank them then we are both on our way. However, I assume they don't even think twice about my answer, there is so much truth behind it. Thinking about moving to a new town and starting college freaks me out. I hate being away from home for more then four days, and to think I will be spending the next 3-4 years away from my comfortable home town makes me nervous... but excited.
I am excited for:
1. Freedom, I mean not having parents say "be home by 12" will be pretty nice.
2. Meeting new people, because who doesn't love making new friends...and maybe meeting some cute boys.
3. Saturday football games, Fridays will no longer be the best day of the week.
4. Rooming with my friends, I mean because come on who doesn't love sleep overs...every night?
5. Chick-fil-a, McDonald's just isn't cutting it anymore, and I won't have to drive 30 minutes to get Chick-fil-a sauce.
6. New adventures, because college is going to be the "best time of our lives."
I am nervous for:
1. Moving away from comfort, definitely not looking forward to not seeing dad every day and going to miss moms nightly pow-wows.
2. Having to grow up, we actually have to call the doctor...for ourselves.
3. Not knowing what to do as a "college student", where do we "hang out" at? Is it cool to rock a college shirt already?
4. Not doing the right amount of studying, is an hour not enough? Is 3 too much?
5. The Freshman 15, because honestly who isn't nervous for it?
6. New adventures, because college is going to be the "most stressful time of our lives."
So good luck to everyone, cheers to the next four years.
