Dear creators of the newest Sherlock season (AKA the ones who killed Mary Watson),
I think I know your names, but it isn't worth Googling to make sure. So, please be content with how you are addressed in this letter.
Your fourth season seems promising.
Everything was going great, in fact, until Mary blocked the bullet meant for Sherlock with her stomach.
Firstly, how does that even happen? How could Mary see the bullet coming towards her and somehow, perfectly time her body while the bullet is more than 3/4ths there to block the shot?
The timing is nearly impossible, at least in the finished C.G.I slow motion version.
Secondly, WHY did Mary use her unprotected body to block the shot instead of diving and forcing Sherlock to the ground? Yeah, she may still have gotten hit, but at least it would be less likely to create a fatal wound. WHY WOULD MARY (WHO IS PROFESSIONALLY TRAINED, BY-THE-WAY) block it so clumsily?
Thirdly, assuming from where the bullet wound was, Mary couldn't have died so quickly. Bleeding to death can take a good ten minutes at generous times. It is not pretty. (Speaking of, there wasn't enough blood). At least, that's what Watson seemed to think when he first examined her, which brings me to my next point.
Fourthly, WHY DID WATSON LET HER DIE? Sherlock can barely scratch his finger without Dr. Watson treating him like a patient. In this scene, Watson didn't panic. It was like an old enemy was dying before Watson, and he felt a little guilty, but not sad. Watson did almost nothing. He didn't even panic, or say goodbye. She just died. And he let her. Even when someone on the scene mentioned an ambulance, he didn't ask where it was. Remember, this was an ARMY DOCTOR. And A HUSBAND. Something was wrong with this scene. So utterly wrong.
Now I see why you needed to get rid of Mary and it is wonderful that she is leaving. But her exit was more confusing than grand.
Sincerely,
A worried fan.
