Get into the cold and get into your pose. Everyone’s all about being outside, right? Snowga is the latest creation of combining properties yoga and skiing. According to Fox, both snowboarders and skiers have found the benefits of practicing yoga in their sport because it eliminates any fears and self judgement.

Whether you are hitting the slopes or going for a hike, snowga is a great way of getting in tune with yourself and the world around you. Many have heard of hot yoga and other varieties, but doing yoga in the snow is a different way of getting in touch with a new era in itself. Winter may seem cold and dark, but it’s on those rare clear days that you can really appreciate the serenity that is always there.

The practice of yoga is meant to unite. In these terms, it means to unite in the mind, body, and breathe. It’s a special type of discipline and that in itself is where you can find rewards. Uniting with the winter season has it’s own share of benefits as well.

Playfulness.

Feel like a kid again. Go outside play in the snow, and get your yoga on while you’re at it! When we were younger, we always loved different moments just for the experience in itself. Take this opportunity to focus on your practice even as the temperature and scenery around you change. Honoring this let’s you see in a different perspective.

Exercise.

Yoga in itself already has many benefits in health and fitness, but Snowga is a different being in itself. Snowga can be very dangerous if not approached in the right manner. The sudden drop in temperature from going indoors to the outdoors needs to be taken with precaution. A steady rule of thumb is to jog before a Snowga session. A short jog will spead up the heart rate while loosening the limbs to prevent from any injuries. This extra cardio comes in handy when trying to unite and keep a great figure.

Another important train of thought is to remain thoughtful. Yoga is also an exercise of the mind. Stay mindful and be aware of anything that does not serve you or your body.

Scenery.

Some of the most beautiful sunrises and sunsets occur in the winter. With the crisp air and clear skies, snowga is a great way to take advantage of the glitter season.

Strength.

The strength that you will uncover will amaze you. It takes a lot for some people to go out in the cold and for others they find it hard to experience happiness. Getting yourself out in an uncomfortable setting like the winter is just a reminder that every feeling and moment that we experience is just a season. When you allow yourself to appreciate each season unconditionally, you realize that even the tough times are pretty magical.

“Yoga has a natural benefit of healing- it calms the mind and body and is a true compliment to snow sports education,” Anderson at Fox. It’s true, uniting all of these different dynamics not only heals, but increases the way you experience a new moment.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
