I think I know why
it is unlucky
to break a snow globe.
It's because
we break a world
that is untouched by anyone
allowing it to breathe
the same air we breathe.
We ourselves
expose something
to reality when it's already
broken enough,
we poison it with
the dangers of our world
and don't ever bother to
fix it.
We take something
that is safe
and full of joy,
and break down everything
it once had.
The sound of the glass
cracking and shattering
pleases our ears
and we almost crave
to see its destruction
again and again.
It is unlucky to break
a snow globe
simply because
of the way it makes us feel.
For many of us,
we experience the destruction
of a world that once existed
and we are unlucky
to have felt some sort of joy.
