Federal Officials have been called to Downtown Dallas, Texas to investigate a report of bomb threats to the downtown area after police were shot at by a sniper while trying to keep the peace at a "Black Lives Matter" Protest.

This violence comes 48 hours after Alton Sterling was shot and killed by police, the community saying it was another race inspired shooting. In this event, police were dispatched to a call of a man selling CDs and threatening somebody with a gun. Police tried to take him into custody and Sterling fought back. According to police, a gun was retrieved from his pocket after being shot. The officers responsible for shooting Sterling have been placed on administrative leave while the department conducts a thorough investigation.

According to authorities, Dallas Police Officers were attacked by two snipers from an elevated location during a "Black Lives Matter" Protest. Approximately 12 officers were shot and five were killed. One suspect had to be killed by an explosion utilizing one pound of C-4 and "Det" cord.

"When all attempts to negotiate with the suspect, Micah Johnson, failed under the exchange of gunfire, the Department utilized the mechanical tactical robot, as a last resort, to deliver an explosion device to save the lives of officers and citizens."

According to Police, Johnson was a U.S. Army veteran who had no criminal record. During a search of Johnson's home, detectives found materials for making explosives, rifles, ammunition, ballistic vests, and a journal of combat tactics.

Milwaukee Sheriff David Clarke, one of the media's most popular law enforcement official, said in an interview with the press that President Obama and 2016 Democratic Party Candidate Hillary Clinton are fueling the fire between the race war on police as well as saying that President Obama has no evidence or data to support the police are treating African American citizens poorly:

“What can you say? This is horrible beyond belief for the American law enforcement officers. I want to know, have we heard from the cop-hater in chief yet on this? I know we heard from Mrs. Bill Clinton who threw up the hashtag #BlackLivesMatter yesterday.

They exploited the situation, the two situations in Louisiana and Minnesota, horrible no doubt, but when the commander in chief opens his mouth and sticks his foot in it, he starts exploiting things that just don’t exist. He has no evidence or data or research to support any disparity treatment by the American police officer and that’s the thing I’m talking about.”

Dallas Police say they are still investigating the incident and are grateful for everyone's prayers and condolences:

This is an ongoing investigation. If anyone has information regarding the shootings, please call 214-671-3584.

"We are so thankful for the overwhelming prayers, support, love, and donations from everyone. Please continue to keep the families of the officers in your thoughts and prayers. Out of respect for the families of the fallen and injured officers, the Dallas Police Department is waiting to officially release their names pending approval from the family members."

girl with a hat

This is for the girls who have dealt with an emotionally, mentally, physically or verbally abusive father.

The ones who have grown up with a false lens of what love is and how relationships should be. The ones who have cried themselves to sleep wondering why he hurts you and your family so much. This is for all the girls who fall in love with broken boys that carry baggage bigger than their own, thinking it's their job to heal them because you watched your mother do the same.

Blair Waldorf Quote
"DESTINY IS FOR LOSERS. IT'S JUST A STUPID EXCUSE TO WAIT FOR THINGS TO HAPPEN INSTEAD OF MAKING THEM HAPPEN." - BLAIR WALDORF.

The world stopped in 2012 when our beloved show "Gossip Girl" ended. For six straight years, we would all tune in every Monday at 9:00 p.m. to see Upper Eastside royalty in the form of a Burberry headband clad Blair Waldorf. Blair was the big sister that we all loved to hate. How could we ever forget the epic showdowns between her and her frenemy Serena Van Der Woodsen? Or the time she banished Georgina Sparks to a Christian summer camp? How about that time when she and her girls took down Bart Bass? Blair is life. She's taught us how to dress, how to be ambitious, and most importantly, how to throw the perfect shade.

too tired to care

1. The awkward hellos on move-in day.

You're moving your stuff onto your floor, and you will encounter people you don't know yet in the hallway. They live on your floor, so you'll awkwardly smile and maybe introduce yourself. As you walk away, you will wonder if they will ever speak to you again, but don't worry, there's a good chance that you will make some great friends on your floor!

Recently I completed my freshman year of college, and boy, what an experience. It was a completely new learning environment and I can't believe how much I learned. In an effort to save time, here are the ten biggest lessons I learned from my first year of college.

1. Everyone is in the same boat

For me, the scariest part of starting school was that I was alone, that I wouldn't be able to make any friends and that I would stick out. Despite being told time and time again that everyone had these same feelings, it didn't really click until the first day when I saw all the other freshman looking as uneasy and uncomfortable as me. Therefore, I cannot stress this enough, everyone is feeling as nervous as you.
