Snapchat | Snap Inc.

By now I'm sure you've heard the hype surrounding Snapchat Spectacles. But just in case you haven't, here's a brief summary about what they are and why I'm so excited for them to come out!

Basically, Spectacles are camera-equipped glasses that take 10-second snaps and upload straight into your Snapchat memories. All of the snaps are from your point of view and the eyeglasses' cam utilizes 115-degree-angle lens which apparently mimics the natural view of our eyes. If you see something cool, you can immediately hit the record button on the glasses and they'll light up to show people they're recording. Think GoPro meets Google Glass meets trendy eyewear. Much less creepy than google glass where you never knew if the person was recording or not. Snapchat Spectacles actually look like something you'd want to wear! (Now now, I know that not everyone will be a fan of the design of Spectacles, but in my humble opinion, I would wear them as sunglasses).

Not to be confused, the footage you capture on your Spectacles do not go directly into your Snapchat story. They instead get uploaded directly into Snapchat Memories where you can select and post your coolest & best video clips for your audience. You can also save them onto your device and post on other places on the internet as well!

Here are some fun ways that Snapchat Spectacles can be used:
- Live events: capture awesome moments with minimal effort at concerts, bars, business conventions and more.
- Traveling: lighten your load and focus more on what's around you than your devices. Load to social during down time with a few clicks.
- Vlogging: piece together cool moments throughout the day with minimal effort.
- Be on point: catch epic moments before they pass with a single touch of your glasses, forget fumbling in your pocket.
- Urban running: capture intense perspectives most people will never witness.
- Parenting: never miss a moment and keep your hands free to take care of your little ones or fur babies.
- Web browsing: want to come back to something later but don't want to bookmark? Take a short video and even consider sharing with friends.

The best apart about Snap Spectacles is the cost! They are priced at $130 USD making them affordable to many and still in that impulse buy category, not a life investment category! They will come in three colors: black, teal, and coral. CEO Evan Spiegel announced that they will be available this Fall and they'll begin with a "limited number." I imagine they'll start accepting pre-orders soon.

Why is Snapchat releasing a physical product? Because they have their sights set on becoming a camera company! They're on a mission to help the world capture experiences in new ways. They are rebranding under the new corporate parent name of Snap Inc. Learn more about that here.

Now we wait until the elusive Spectacles are released to the public. I'm anticipating a positive response from the community based on the initial hype, but I guess we won't know until we get to try them out for ourselves! :)

I think the hardest thing about going away to college is figuring out how to become an adult. Leaving a household where your parents took care of literally everything (thanks, Mom!) and suddenly becoming your own boss is overwhelming. I feel like I'm doing a pretty good job of being a grown-up, but once in awhile I do something that really makes me feel like I'm #adulting. Twenty-somethings know what I'm talking about.

I went to a small high school, like 120-people-in-my-graduating-class small. It definitely had some good and some bad, and if you also went to a small high school, I’m sure you’ll relate to the things that I went through.

1. If something happens, everyone knows about it

Who hooked up with whom at the party? Yeah, heard about that an hour after it happened. You failed a test? Sorry, saw on Twitter last period. Facebook fight or, God forbid, real fight? It was on half the class’ Snapchat story half an hour ago. No matter what you do, someone will know about it.

Chandler Bing

I'm assuming that we've all heard of the hit 90's TV series, Friends, right? Who hasn't? Admittedly, I had pretty low expectations when I first started binge watching the show on Netflix, but I quickly became addicted.

Without a doubt, Chandler Bing is the most relatable character, and there isn't an episode where I don't find myself thinking, Yup, Iam definitely the Chandler of my friend group.

Working with the public can be a job, in and of itself. Some people are just plain rude for no reason. But regardless of how your day is going, always having to be in the best of moods, or at least act like it... right?

1. When a customer wants to return a product, hands you the receipt, where is printed "ALL SALES ARE FINAL" in all caps.

2. Just because you might be having a bad day, and you're in a crappy mood, doesn't make it okay for you to yell at me or be rude to me. I'm a person with feelings, just like you.

3. People refusing to be put on hold when a customer is standing right in front of you. Oh, how I wish I could just hang up on you!

RBF, or resting b*tch face, is a serious condition that many people suffer from worldwide. Suffers are often bombarded with daily questions such as "Are you OK?" and "Why are you so mad?" If you have RBF, you've probably had numerous people tell you to "just smile!"
