Woah! Snapchat’s new device “ Spectacles” , is making history. This new device has interesting features that the entire nation would soon take advantage of. Let’s start with Augmented Reality. Augmented Reality overlays digital information onto the visual world. Which means it turns the imagination into a reality , that we can see to the human eye. Spectacles are glasses that can record video clips that will save to your Snapchat Memories. They are equipped with a 115- degree lens, which is manufactures the same way that humans actually see. Spectacles are currently being sold for $130. Lenses are the actual overlay used to add the special effects/ features that the snapchat users see. Lenses distort the visual reality of what the user gets to see. Specs are designed to do both capture images and record videos , that you can later view on your snapchat . The ages that will be using Specs the most , range from 18-25 years old. Microsoft's HoloLens or ODG’s smart glasses were another company that tried to make a similar product. Snapchat has indirectly promoted “social-awkwardness”. As people get more accustomed to using their phones they will use it as a crutch to rely on. The trends that i notice is that once one company makes a device others copy . Also they try to point out the negative things that the company before them has with their product.
