During the summer months, there's nothing better on a hot day than to drink an ice-cold smoothie. Better yet, a healthy one. Here are five easy healthy smoothie recipes perfect to help you stay hydrated and cool in the heat of summer!

1.Mixed Berry Smoothie

This frozen mixed berry smoothie comes together super quickly and is one of my favorite treats on a hot summer day. It is a personal favorite of mine because by using frozen fruit the smoothie comes out at a pretty thick consistency instead of a more watered down one that you would get if you were to be using ice.

What You'll Need: 1 1/2 cups milk, 1 1/2 cups frozen mixed berries, 3/4 cup Greek yogurt, and 1 banana

2. Pineapple Cream Tropical Smoothie

If you like pineapples, you NEED to try this smoothie. It tastes so good and is very sweet and creamy. You can even make it dairy-free by substituting the milk with coconut or almond milk if you are a vegan.

What You'll Need: 3 cups crushed ice, 3/4 cup Dole canned Pineapple juice, 1/2 cup orange juice concentrate, 1/2 cup coconut milk, and 1/4 teaspoon vanilla

3. Blueberry Blast Smoothie

The blueberry blast smoothie is super easy to make, sweet, and a personal favorite of mine to drink poolside.

What You'll Need: 1/2 cup low fat milk, 1/2 cup non fat plain yogurt,1 cup frozen blueberries, and 1 teaspoon honey

4. Green Smoothie

Because it is tasty and loaded with health benefits, you need to try this green smoothie. It feeds your body energy as well as promotes detox and weight loss. It even has no dairy products so you can make it if you are a vegan.

What You'll Need: 3 cups water, 3 cups frozen mango, 4 cups spinach, and 2 cups kale

5. Lemon Strawberry Smoothie

If you like strawberry lemonade, you should definitely try this smoothie. It tastes just like it but way creamier and richer.

What You'll Need: 1 cup strawberries, lemon juice, 1 cup vanilla Greek yogurt, ¼ cup milk, 2 teaspoons honey, and 1 cup ice

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
