Who doesn’t love a little extra sparkle and glimmer? Sequins and foil were flashed all over holiday party looks and New Year's Eve outfits. If sparkles aren’t exactly your thing but you still want that little extra flare, there’s a simple way to fix it.
Whether you’re looking to subtly stand out or your roots are in need for a touch up but you don't have time for an appointment, there’s nothing to fear. Glitter roots are here!
While you won’t see any fashionista strut into the workplace with some jazzed up roots on a Tuesday, it is quite possible this look could make an appearance at a concert, a club or anywhere a little shimmer may go a long way.
To begin, simply part your hair. If you can rock the middle part, I suggest this to assure the best look. Don’t get too crafty with your 2001 zigzag part. The glitter will draw enough attention. If your part is naturally on the side, begin with taking styling gel and combing it from your roots down an inch or two in order to press down the hair. Once the part is perfected, with glitter on hand, gel the same part of your part. Afterwards, quickly apply a generous amount of glitter to the desired areas of your part. Repeat as many times as you feel is necessary to get your dream glitter roots. No need for an elaborate dress because your roots will steal the show.
A few hair washes and several shakes of your pillow will be necessary to get rid of all the glitter post-occasion. Try it while it’s hot. C’mon, we all had colored streaks in our hair somewhere in between middle school and high school or dip dyed it for a hot second. Unless your competition dance team did not allow it (like mine).
Skip the salon and dig into your craft drawer for this look.
