Thirty-six times the World Series of Major League Baseball has gone to seven games.

Eight years since there had been a rain delay in the World Series.

Three times has game seven of the World Series gone into extra innings.

Seventy-one years has it been since the Chicago Cubs had gone to a World Series.

One-hundred and eight years since the Chicago Cubs had won a world series.

With the closing of the 2016 MLB World Series, let us update some of these numbers listed:

Thirty-seven times the World Series of Major League Baseball has gone to seven games.

Zero years since there had been a rain delay in the World Series.

Four times has game seven of the World Series gone into extra innings.

Zero years has it been since the Chicago Cubs had gone to a World Series.

And the last and monumental number to change,

ZERO YEARS since the Chicago Cubs had won a World Series.

The Chicago Cubs have done something so many fans of baseball were doubtful they could ever do. After one-hundred and eight years of hopeless and heartbreaking seasons, they have finally rose out of the ashes and defeated the Billy Goat Curse to win themselves a World Series.

With all their superstitions and drama regarding the curse of the Billy Goat, it was no wonder the Chicago Cubs couldn't just win but had to do so with a story. After rising out of a 3-1 deficit to the Cleveland Indians in the World Series best of seven games, they had forced the series into a game seven.

After blowing their 6-3 lead in the eighth inning, they were able to stop the Indians from taking the lead and instead have the game go to a tie.

After creating this tie and pushing the game into extra-innings, they had luck on their side as the rain came down and they had time to get their heads back in the right mindset.

And after they pushed the game into the 10th inning, they were able to score two runs in the top and keep the Indians from scoring any runs in the bottom.

No longer does a smelly goat haunt the Chicago Cubs and no longer do they have the longest drought of a World Series title out of all teams in baseball. Instead, they hold the most recent.

Congratulations to the Chicago Cubs on their World Series win, and make sure to keep any and all goats away in the future.

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

As an English Major in college, I have a lot of writing and especially creative writing pieces that I work on throughout the semester and sometimes, I'll find it hard to get the motivation to type a few pages and the thought process that goes behind it. These are eleven thoughts that I have as a writer while writing my stories.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
