Unless you go to a school as big as an entire city, you will most likely encounter all of these different situations at college:
1. You run into everyone you know all the time.
When living in a close proximity to students, you are bound to see people that you know...EVERYWHERE. You may not know everyone, but whenever you decide to walk anywhere, it is very likely that you will see one of your classmates or friends. Most of the time you see someone that was from one of your classes and you don't know if you should say hi to them or not so you avoid eye contact completely. This happens around 10 times a day.
2. Everyone has a strange connection to each other.
Someone from your English class is roommates with your friend's boyfriend, or two people you meet from two totally different circumstances are BFF's. In any case, the people you would least expect know each other. At school, everyone is connected to everyone in some way or another. Everyone seems to know everyone.
3. There are only so many places to eat on campus.
Ah yes, the joy of deciding where to eat for lunch. There are only so many good options for food. The problem is, if you eat something you like too much, you end up getting sick of it. This can limit your eating choices, especially when most of the food does not look appetizing at all.
4. You love the community that has been created.
Going to a medium or small-sized school can feel both lonely and comforting at the same time. You do not know everyone who goes to your school, but you can feel the sense of community all around campus.
