Couldn't imagine this life with only one best friend.

Small Groups of Friends Are So Fun

It's funny because when people ask me who my best friend is, I can't name just one. I always have to name off all of you. Our small circle is something that people have told me they are jealous of. Sometimes, I wonder how we all even became friends, we are all so completely different. I wouldn't change it for anything, though. It makes our relationship that much more fun.

You guys know all of my secrets. May I shoot y'all a text and keep you in the loop or just show up in your living room, regardless, I couldn't go without telling you guys everything. More importantly, you listen when I am telling you something, whether I'm ranting or telling one of my pointless stories, you're always all ears. You can be busy as can be but you'll still make time to answer my texts or facetimes.

Having more than one best friend is one of the greatest things ever. People always say don't trust too many people or there's no way you can be friends with more than one person in that way, but you totally can. By having more than 2 in the best friendship, you have more options to do things. You get to change up who your roller coaster riding buddy is or you never don't have someone to have plans with. We all have different interests so choosing something to do is always interesting. It can be anywhere from bingo to shopping to hiking. But we all do have one common interest,. And that is trying new things and always being up for the adventure with each other as our company. I couldn't imagine trying new things without my awesome small circle.

The conversation could never get boring. While we are all really close, we do still live our own lives and have different friends as well so there's always something to talk about. Hearing about each other's days or how we are doing in school or what party we went to that weekend.. We never run out things to talk about. I love listening to each aspect of y'all's lives is so fun and interesting. I love celebrating with yall when something awesome happens for one of us. At the same time, we all hurt together when something terrible happens. We each have our own opinions about everything but at the end of the day, we hear them out and respect each other.

That's all there is in a friendship, right? So what if you have 3 or 4 different best friends? It keeps life interesting and definitely alot of fun. Thank you to my small group of friends who have been there for me. Thank you to the friends who helped me through the hard times. Thank you to the friends who have taken the adventure of life with me. Can't wait for all the memories to come.

Summer: a time (usually) free from school work and a time to relax with your friends and family. Maybe you go on a vacation or maybe you work all summer, but the time off really does help. When you're in college you become super close with so many people it's hard to think that you won't see many of them for three months. But, then you get that text saying, "Hey, clear your schedule next weekend, I'm coming up" and you begin to flip out. Here are the emotions you go through as your best friend makes her trip to your house.

Winter break is over, we're all back at our respective colleges, and the first week of classes is underway. This is a little bit how that week tends to go.

The professor starts to go over something more than the syllabus

You get homework assigned on the first day of class

There are multiple group projects on the syllabus

You learn attendance is mandatory and will be taken every class

Professor starts chatting about their personal life and what inspired them to teach this class

Participation is mandatory and you have to play "icebreaker games"

Everybody is going out because its 'syllabus week' but you're laying in bed watching Grey's Anatomy

Looking outside anytime past 8 PM every night of this week

Nobody actually has any idea what's happening this entire week

Syllabus week is over and you realize you actually have to try now...or not

Now it's time to get back into the REAL swing of things. Second semester is really here and we all have to deal with it.

panera bread

Whether you specialized in ringing people up or preparing the food, if you worked at Panera Bread it holds a special place in your heart. Here are some signs that you worked at Panera in high school.

1. You own so many pairs of khaki pants you don’t even know what to do with them

Definitely the worst part about working at Panera was the uniform and having someone cute come in. Please don’t look at me in my hat.

7 Ways to Make Your Language More Transgender and Nonbinary Inclusive

With more people becoming aware of transgender and non-binary people, there have been a lot of questions circulating online and elsewhere about how to be more inclusive. Language is very important in making a space safer for trans and non-binary individuals. With language, there is an established and built-in measure of whether a place could be safe or unsafe. If the wrong language is used, the place is unsafe and shows a lack of education on trans and non-binary issues. With the right language and education, there can be more safe spaces for trans and non-binary people to exist without feeling the need to hide their identities or feel threatened for merely existing.
