"Slow down you crazy child, you're so ambitious for a juvenile" - Billy Joel. Billy Joel said it best. SLOW DOWN!
Nowadays we are all in a rush to grow up; however, I don't understand why. I mean I guess it could be partially due to social media and people we idolize, but why? Why are we rushing our lives?
I, myself, am guilty of partaking in a fast paced lifestyle and rushing to grow up. I partially contribute this lifestyle and yearning to mature due to conformity. Our world is extremely competitive and full of external pressures that alter some of our decisions and perceptions. So, stop and breath.
Don't feel that you need to become a billionaire by the age of twenty-five. Don't try to force relationships just so you can be married and have a family by twenty-three. Do things that you want! Personally, I would love to try and ride a motorcycle, and what better time to do it than when I'm in my early twenties! Do things that make you happy, and try to live life to the fullest!
When things begin to feel like they are spiraling out of control, take a step back and breath because everything will be okay. You may not think it now, but ultimately you will achieve your goals, be (somewhat) stress-free, but most importantly live a life without regrets. The one thing I know I never want to do is look back on my life and regret anything. People need to cherish every moment now and make the most of life.
I think we all need to go back to simpler days where we didn't feel pressure to conform to society, but embrace ourselves as individuals. Life flashes before our eyes and we need to live a life without regrets. Start now!
