5 Low-Key Places In New Orleans To Let All Your Stress Go

There is no better feeling than walking into a restaurant or store and feeling a sense of relief. Being able to sit in an open area with friends or family and debrief about your hectic week, makes all the worries in the world disappear. If you are in desperate need of a place to let all your stress go, I highly suggest checking out these five spots, and trust me, you'll be aesthetically pleased.

1. French Truck Coffee

The bright yellow house with a royal blue door and white rocking chairs just screams come inside. You can enjoy a delicious coffee or tea with a pastry and sit inside under the lit and wooden interior or outside under the gazebo. The open windows on the side make the restaurant light and breezy. I would definitely recommend a warm cappuccino with almond milk and a blueberry muffin. Take a walk down Dryades Street, it's a hard place to miss.

2. Raw Republic

Upon entering, you would have no idea what the place can hold. There's a staircase in the back that connects you to a whole new world. The mix of the one blue wall, marble, wood, and greenery brings a calming essence to the acai bowl experience. The all white chairs and cushions brings you to peace and serenity.

3. Perch

People don't associate a furniture store s a place where you can find peace, but thats exactly what Perch furniture shop does. The space is made up of a few different rooms filled with random collectables. Normally, you wouldn't think in a million years to pair skulls with butterflies or rhinoceros with candles, but when all these different items come together, it creates an extremely calming atmosphere. You have to keep circling back around the store, just in case you don't miss something.

4. Drip Affogato

The all white and wood color scheme makes you feel refreshed. Just like the ice cream, this place is almost too perfect to touch. If you're not in the mood for ice cream, but still want something sweet, I highly recommend their ice coffee. Next time you are near Lee Circle, you have to go, because it is definitely not a spot you want to miss.

5. Gallery B Fos.

You may be tempted to walk past this when exploring Magazine Street, but you'll regret it. This art gallery features some of the most incredible artwork I have ever seen. The whole entire gallery is filled with colorful, abstract paintings. The contrast between the colors and the all white walls makes you want to sit and stare at her paintings for hours. The picture above is one of my favorite paintings, but even a painting can't describe how magical this place is.

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
