I'm Sleeping All Spring Break And I'm OK With That

I'm Sleeping All Spring Break And I'm OK With That

This semester has been a whirlwind. I honestly can't believe it's already March and I've slept a total of five hours.

With two internships and a full class schedule, sleeping, eating and honestly just breathing have taken a backseat to work, finishing class assignments and tons of journalism (which makes it all better).

So, this Spring Break, I won't be heading to the beach like most of my fellow classmates. I will be sleeping ... for days.

I think wanting to sleep over going on a vacation is the most adult thing I've experienced so far in my 22 years of life. I am honestly looking forward to it as if I'm about to backpack through Europe. Maybe, if I'm lucky, I can dream that I'm in some exotic place while I slumber the week away.

In all honesty, though, I can't wait to graduate. School is fun and all, and I love seeing my friends every day, but I don't know how much longer I can spread myself this thin. I'm so eager to just start my career and only have to do what I love for the rest of my life - without all of the other institutional distractions. That is if I find a job before graduation. *Big sigh*

A break to myself is exactly what I need to finish my four years at UCF strong and rejuvenated. Maybe I'll do something staycation-ish here in Orlando like go to Disney or Universal, but nothing too crazy. And nothing that will interfere with my 15 hours of sleep minimum per day all break.

If you don't have any exciting plans for your Spring Break, I highly recommend hibernation. You'll save money, pounds and a whole lot of sanity.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
