As a college student, I've definitely had my fair share of days where sleep has been the last priority on my checklist. However, as I've grown a little bit older, I've truly realized how important sleep is to so many factors of my life.
When I'm sleep deprived, I notice myself falling into negative patterns in an abundance of different ways.
When I'm running on a lack of sleep, I also notice myself constantly struggling to put my thoughts in order. I feel like my brain is not as clear and I literally struggle to process my thoughts when I'm running on a lack of sleep.
In fact, various studies have actually proven that people's brain function is actually affected by a lack of sleep. When people are going about their day sleep deprived, their ability to problem solve is decreased.
If there's one thing I've learned that is a pretty easy fix to help my days be a little bit easier and my own individual be a lot more productive, it's getting even an hour or two extra hours of sleep each night can really help your ability to be more at the moment.
Getting a decent amount of sleep each night has become one of my top priorities, especially considering how unimportant it was to me in the past. I feel much more refreshed and ready to conquer the day when I am successfully able to get decent nights' sleep.
All in all, take it from someone who definitely has not put sleep at the top of my priority list for a large majority of my life, IT IS IMPORTANT. Sleep not only makes your mind feel well but your body as well! I'm so grateful that I am able to get a solid eight hours a night more often than not because although I am constantly so busy, I have put sleep at the top of my priority list and it has changed my daily life for the better.
