The news of the epic Super Bowl is still lingering in the air. Over 111 million people watched the Patriots comeback from a 4-touchdown Falcon lead to turn around and win the 51st Super Bowl. But the halftime performance was the most anticipated and talked about moment throughout the event for some; over 117 million people watched Lady Gaga kill the stage for 12 minutes performing songs that we all know and love.

The Mother of all Monsters has outdone herself once again with this in-depth performance. But with all performances come with critics, and they definitely gave their opinions about Gaga's appearance. Gaga gave us a theatrical performance, as expected, with costume changes that surprised the audience. With the final costume change, Gaga showed her toned abs but the critics thought otherwise. Her "flabby" stomach made an appearance in the final costume change during the performance and her stomach was soon trending on twitter. Tweets like "[t]ried to enjoy @ladygaga's performance, was distracted by the flab on her stomach swinging around," posted by Nathan (@negan_swing), and other harsh comments such as, "was waiting for a surprise guest but just got Lady Gaga's gut," posted by Jake (@jacobblackiston).

But the Mother Monster took the criticism in a very positive way. Her response to her body critics was stated on her Instagram as follows: "I heard my body is a topic of conversation so I wanted to say, I'm proud of my body and you should be proud of yours too. No matter who you are or what you do. I could give you a million reasons why you don't need to cater to anyone or anything to succeed. Be you, and be relentlessly you. That's the stuff of champions. Thank you so much everyone for supporting me. I love you guys. Xoxo, gaga"

Women in this industry are under the radar with all of the critics and paparazzi these days. Every single detail, move, outfit, and moment, these women are under pressure to be in tip-top shape. Gaga made it very clear on her Snapchat and through other interviews that she was trying like one of the guys for this performance. “I work out a lot. I also do the VersaClimber while I sing. I sing while I do it. I sing the show while I’m doing it. The show is full-on cardio. My performances most of the time are. It’s cardio while singing,” Gaga told interviewer Michael Strahan. Gaga is one of many iconic performers that stands as a reminder for all of us to believe in ourselves, love ourselves, and to not let anyone stand in your way of being who you are. So love your curves, and be as positive as Gaga is!

In the words of Gaga herself, "I'm beautiful in my way, 'Cause God makes no mistakes, I'm on the right track, baby I was born this way," from one of her hit singles, Born this Way.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
