It's not that hard to see social media for what it is, but if you're a slave you probably never will.

Sorry Not Sorry You're a Slave To Social Media

Social media is everywhere. It's interconnected the world in a uniquely dangerous way. Now someone halfway across the world can put their thoughts in your head, and influence your very being with a few words and a picture. This CAN be a good thing, helping raise awareness for something important, but mostly it just causes problems and arguments. This leaves you to either block the person and pretend they weren't right, or waste your time in a flame war. The biggest question in my mind is; Why? Why do you keep wasting time on some time drain? Nothing good comes out of it, and you waste your life staring at some screen. It's not that hard to see social media for what it is, but if you're a slave you probably never will.

I've never had an issue separating myself from social media. maybe it's because I've never seen the attraction of posting my life for everyone to see. Anyone I would friend on a social media platform I see on a regular basis, so there's no point to update them on something they were probably a part of anyways. Besides, I was never interested over other people's days at the lake, and never cared about the car or house they pretended to have. It's not that hard to see the lies in social media, but if you're a slave you probably never will.

The older generations complain about electronics being a waste of time, and in some ways they're right. We all have better things we could be doing, like being productive at our jobs, having actual conversations with people we care about, or finally apply for those loans like we said we would three months ago. Social media is not only destructive to our lives, but infects the lives of our friends. Not only are you wasting your own time, but you waste the time of those you say you care about as well. It's not that hard to see the waste in social media, but if you're a slave you probably never will.

Some people argue that social media is a way to stay in touch with people you miss, but c'mon, there are so many better ways to do that. getting your head out of a screen and into the real world will save you a whole lot of time and effort. Social media wants to distract you from the real world, and make you forget what's in front of you. It's not that hard to see living a life without social media, but if you're a slave you probably never will.

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
