New York. The Big Apple. Often referred to the greatest city on earth. Us New Yorkers know the ins and out of the city. We also have our own slang that all of us collectively know. Here's a list of some common slang terms often found in a true New Yorker's vernacular, with some picture evidence.
1."Deadass"
Probably the most well-known word to all New Yorkers. A popular meme amongst us as well.
Used in a sentence: "Are you deadass my guy???"
2. "Brick"
Used when it's extremely cold outside.
Used in a sentence: "Yo, it's mad brick out."
3. "Mad"
You're not mad about anything, actually. It's more of like a way to express something deeply.
Used in a sentence: "I got mad respect for her."
4. "Youse"
As in, a group of you all.
Used in a sentence: "Youse going out tonight?"
5. "Schmear"
To spread something on something else.
Used in a sentence: "Just schmear some cream cheese on that bagel."
6. "Beef"
Often used to describe a problematic situation between people.
Used in a sentence: "You got beef with me?" Or "We beefin'."
7. "Chopped cheese"
A cut up cheeseburger put on a kaiser roll. Aka the greatest sandwich next to the bacon egg & cheese.
Used in a sentence: "Lemme cop a chopped cheese."
8. "Back door"
When you're using public transportation and are requesting access to the rear door.
Used in a sentence: "DRIVER-BACK DOOR!!!"
9. "Body"
When you absolutely slay something.
Used in a sentence: "I bodied that final, b."
10. "What it do"
Used when asking how someone is doing
Used in a sentence: "Ayo my man, what it do?"
