Trying to keep up with slang is an impossible task for me. Picture an old woman who keeps mistaking her TV remote for a phone. I just don’t get it. The Online Slang Dictionary has become my friend and I’m tired of having to rely on it. I find myself there often in order to figure out exactly what people are saying. I feel I would be better displayed as an old lady listening to a bunch of kids saying, “What is it you kids say these days?” rather than 21 and in college. If you are anything like me, and I hope there are some of you out there, then this article is for you.
It leaves me with so many questions. Who comes up with these words? How do they become popular? How should you know when it’s appropriate to use slang? Is it only for Internet use or should you say it in conversation as well? One the biggest problems when using slang is staying up to date; making sure the words you’re using are still popular and you don’t sound like a fool.
Lately I have noticed a slang revival of some of the best slang words from the past and I’d like to see it thrive. If we are going to use slang, old slang is the best. It’s easy to understand. It carries a nostalgic feel. I will be sticking to these retro words and if you’re truly cool you will too. So, here’s a blast from the past.

“A scrub is a guy that can’t get no love from me.” So finally, ladies, use the word scrub next time you’re talking about a guy in pretty much any way shape or form.
