Ever have that one game that you just can't put down? Pokemon? Super Mario Bros? Halo? Call of Duty (-_-)? One that captivates an experience that you seem to find new life from every single time you press start? Or even one that you simply find yourself glued to because of it's rewarding plot and character development?
Well, kick all of that to the side because let's talk about a game where there legitimately holds no boundaries, no limits, no expiration on what was supposed to be a simple straightforward journey. A game that plunges you into a world with mythological creatures and individuals, where the most absurd and wildest events occur and where you, the character, hold so much power beyond control of anyone or anything that stands before you.
I'm talking about, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.
Here you are, the Dragonborn. Or "Dovahkiin" as spoken in the tongue of the Dovah (dragon). Set out on a quest to explore the wonders of just exactly who you are, understand your gift of powers that have been bestowed upon you in your ability to use your thu'um (dragon shout) to power your way through enemies and the outreach towards living amongst a land called Tamriel. Helping citizens in distress, choosing sides of kingdoms and camps in a war amongst two huge armies, getting yourself caught up in situations that resort in quite the twisting turn of events one could not bare to believe and fighting your way through many different reckless enemies such as giants, bandits, archers, guardsmen and spellcasters. Additional to creatures such as dragons, bears, trolls, wolves, mammoths.....and of course....spiders. Really, BIG, freaking, spiders!
Absolutely could care less if it's just a video game, I freak out at the sight of that thing every single time.
Carrying on. You voyage across the land of Tamriel in search of the answers to find out just what does it mean to be a Dragonborn, as well as taking on the role of finding out why dragons have suddenly after so many centuries returned to mortal ground. The answer, surprisingly, is of just within the question of the curiosity. A dragon. But not just any dragon, presenting
The Nordic God of Destruction.
Alduin, The World Eater.
Coming fourth to fulfill his sole mythological purpose to be the bringer of the end of times, or at the very least to usher in the next age under his own power. YOU as the Dragonborn uphold the power most forceful to bend the mighty one and put an end to his destructive power and allow the world to carry on through it's own cycle.
However, your journey does not come with a silver platter easy path. You must journey across the enormous stretch of land that will assist you in your quest to defeat the mighty dark God. Such of which will entail you to do favors, fight wars, bend the rules and balance of relationships, loyalty and willpower, all to build you stronger, wiser and more importantly louder, for your dragon shout (among of many different types you will possess) is your greatest weapon in your arsenal.
Disregard not that once your mission has been completed in halting The World Eater's reckoning, that your journey is done, because the title still reminds as clear as daylight. This game is a quest that NEVER ends. You may think you are done once you've traveled several miles to save the world of Skyrim....but then, BOOM!
Pull up a chair and a big jug of iced tea, you're gonna be there for a while.
But your continuation of such a journey comes with great reward, this game sends you on a trip of an explosive diversity of action, thrilling and refreshingly packed of emotions every step of the way (yeah even the spiders are "sometimes" fun to deal with).
As a bonus of the DLC (downloadable content) packs, you'll get to dive into the world of preventing
Lord Harkon,
The Nord Leader of the Volkihar Clan
(a vampire) from fulfilling a prophecy called the "Tyranny of the Sun" that, if enacted, would blot out the sun and allow his clan to roam freely during the day and terrorize Skyrim to their own pace.
Also, you'll be thrown into a story where you will encounter
Miraak
The First of all Dragonborns
where you will voyage on your own personal quest to put and end to his existence before he does to you, due to being consumed by rage that there is another Dragonborn roaming the world aside of him.
The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, is a fantastic adventure for all ages to enjoy wholeheartedly. With the nonstop findings of new challenges or battles to take on, it is impossible to find yourself bored or disappointed with the outcome of this game.
