You do it. I do it. It's just going to happen. Some days you just can't make it to the gym, and that's ok. Keep reading for 7 ways to make yourself feel better for not going to the gym.
1. Taking a nap
I know I read somewhere that sleeping burns calories and sometimes if you're not losing weight it could be because you're not getting enough rest. So actually this nap I took today instead of going to the gym was beneficial for my health.
2. Walking an average distance but convincing yourself it replaces a workout
I cannot tell you how many times I've been like "I mean I parked in the back of the grocery store so I'm getting my steps in so it's fine."
3. Eating slightly less than usual
My reasoning is I skipped breakfast, so I'm really saving myself calories (I know skipping meals is actually bad I'm just trying to make myself feel better here).
4. Clothes still fitting
I mean........if my clothes still fit then there's no actual need to go to the gym? Right?
5. Drinking a lot of water
I act so extra when I drink 64+ ounces of water in one day. I really feel like I'm just a super healthy person and my body is just going to cleanse itself of all its fat because I drank the amount of water I was supposed to.
6. Rest day
This is actually my rest day so not going to gym is fine. Everyone needs a break. A day here and there. Maybe even 12 at a time. But who's counting?
7. Eating super foods and thinking it'll change your body
Everyone talks about how kale is a super food and in my mind that means that whenever I eat it, I feel like my body is like "yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaas Alexis you go gurrrrrrl." And all of my fat just melts away like the Wicked Witch of the West from the 'Wizard of Oz.'
Tell me what you do to make yourself feel better for not going to the gym!! I need more excuses in my life.
