As spring starts to roll around. The weather is getting nicer. The sun is shining almost every day, and it's starting to feel like summertime. The past week we hit 80 degrees outside, it's absolutely gorgeous.
More students myself included are tempted to skip class to spend time outside. Although it's not the best thing if it becomes a habit. But from time to time it is okay to take a break. Here's what to do if you skip class to spend some time outside.
1.) Email
Always try to email your professor to tell them you will not be there. Professors are more understanding when they know what's going on. Otherwise, they will just assume you are missing class. While yes you are still missing a class you are taking the correct steps to do so.
2.) Notes
Try to get the notes from class from a classmate. Also, check with your professor to see if there is anything that you need to make up. Do not allow your relaxing day to cause your stress later by not keeping up with the class. It's always a good idea to read over the powerpoint so next class time you will understand what's going on.
3. Enjoy Your Self
You took the day off to enjoy the weather. So make sure you actually get out there and take in the beautiful weather. Take a bike ride, go for a walk, relax in a hammock. Whatever you decide to do enjoy the day.
Note to Students:
Don't let your one day throw you off course. It's good to take some time off to ground yourself, but don't make it a habit. It's almost the end of the semester to finish out strong.
