Are you tired of popping pimples and covering up blemishes with layers upon layers of foundations, creams, color correctors and powders? Are you so done with having dry and/or oily skin? I'll show you some simple steps to follow and those days are over! Most of us are on a budget, am I right?! Having a smooth and clear face doesn't have to break the bank. I'm going to show you some of my go-to's for clearing up your face.

Here's some things I do in order to keep a clean blemish free face. There are some things that you should do daily and others I recommend doing just once a week. Please keep in mind that everyone's faces are different and they react differently to certain products so these are just somethings that work for me and some other people I know.

It is important to mention that many other factors have an influence on your face and breakouts besides your skin care routine. It is crucial to drink tons of water. Other things that will help include a clean diet (unprocessed, non-greasy/fatty foods), regularly washing your pillowcase/makeup brushes and refraining from touching your face as much as possible.

Cleanse

Deep Cleansing Brush- I recommend using a brush in order to apply your cleanser. This way you get a deeper cleanse and the products you buy will be more productive. Unfortunately with this...there are lower price options if you do your research but in my opinion, the Clarisonic Mia brush is well worth the money. Remember, you get what you pay for, and your face is too precious to mess around with.

Aveeno Clear Complexion - I fell in love with this cleanser the first time I used it. After you wash your face with this, your face feels like it's sparkling clean. It's so soothing and you can physically feel it working. I like this one because it's only $6 so anyone can afford it and it has gentle micro beads that help to work the cream into your skin. Aveeno is great because they only use natural ingredients so their products won't cause breakouts for the majority of people. You can find it at Target or drugstores.

Dark Angels Cleanser - I've been using this for over a year now. This particular one is from LUSH. Charcoal reaches deep under your skin to pull out imperfections so it's a wonderful deep cleanser and preventer for future breakouts. Charcoal can be used on all skin types and it absorbs oils. You can use this weekly or daily depending on your need. I use it about once a week and it leaves my face feeling so smooth. You have to like the smell of charcoal otherwise this isn't for you (personally I adore it)...even though charcoal can do wonders for your skin!

DIY Lavender Sugar Scrub -For all you girls out there who love DIY Projects or those of us who just don't have money laying around for beauty products, this is for you! The only 3 ingredients are sugar...which you probably already have, coconut oil and lavender essential oil. The sugar gives an exfoliating effect. Essential oil comes from plants and it's highly concentrated so use it sparingly. Lavender provides a calming feeling, plus is just smells incredible. Coconut oil will also do wonders for your skin and we'll talk about that later. Coconut oil also acts as a makeup remover and I've found that it will take off even the toughest makeup. Yes, that means your 6 layers of waterproof mascara!

Checks & Balances Frothy Face Wash- This Origin's face wash smells soooo minty fresh and the scent lasts after you use it! This has become the face wash I use nightly and sometimes in the mornings again. It's addicting because it lathers nicely on your face and really pulls off all your makeup leaving your face feeling squeaky clean! I will be using this for years to come. It's a little on the pricier side of about $22 but so worth it! Make sure you moisturize after cleansing because you don't want your face to dry out. I've been using this for a year (5-6 days a week) and it's just about gone, so it lasts awhile!

Mask

Blue Clay Mask- I like this mask because it is dry powder so it won't go bad and also it actually smells amazing. I've used other masks like Magnaminty by LUSH and it just smelled too strong and ick. This mask cleanses and brightens your face. Just mix it with a tad bit of good ole H20 in your hard, put a layer on your face, let it harden, then carefully wipe off with a lukewarm moist (ew I hate that word) towel.

Charcoal Mask - I love Origins because they are earth friendly and use natural ingredients. Another great thing about charcoal is that it cleans out your clogged pores and dissolves impurities in your face. This means that it can prevent future breakouts from occurring before you even get the chance to see them! How wonderful :)

Toner Spray

Aveda Toning Mist- This toner is so refreshing! I spray it a few times on my face in the morning and it really helps to wake me up. You can also use it at night to remove excess makeup after you cleanse. This toner smells really good and I've fallen in love with it after using it for about 8 months.

Mario Badescu Rosewater - Again, so refreshing! This smells amazing and not only do I use this as a refresher throughout the day, but I put it on after my makeup as a setting spray and it gives it a nice finish! I'll definitely be continuing to get this!

Moisturize

Neutrogena Oil-Free Moisturizer- If you are cleansing, then moisturizing is an absolute MUST!! This is my favorite because it's only $11 at drugstores or places like Target. I like it because my face doesn't feel oily or greasy after I use it. I put this on in the morning after cleansing, under my makeup and before primer. It's extremely soft.

Vitamin E Cream - I use a Vitamin E cream on my face EVERY night after I cleanse. Vitamin E helps to tone your face so if you put it on pimples or red areas, it will tone out your face and clear it up in no time! Vitamin E is also great for dry spots on your face which is perfect for the winter and all the skin problems that occur because of cold temperatures! I put this on every night after cleansing and in the morning and my blemishes aren't nearly as bad!

Organic Virgin Coconut Oil- I know people are skeptical about putting oil on their face, but coconut has so many health benefits. To name a few; it contains Vitamin E, proteins, and anti-aging properties. Coconut oil will help to brighten your skin, remove imperfections and soften. As I mentioned earlier, it even removes makeup extremely easily. I put it on at night because of it's oily properties (you don't want an oily face during the day!)

I had so much fun sharing this important healthy/beauty info with you all and I hope some of it was useful to you!

Taylor Swift in orange dress playing a moss-covered piano on stage with bright lights.

A three-and-a-half-hour runtime. Nine Eras. Eleven outfit changes. Three surprise songs. Zero breaks. One unforgettable evening. In the past century, no other performer has put on an electric performance quite like Taylor Swift, surpassing her fans ‘wildest dreams’. It is the reason supporters keep coming back to her shows each year. Days later, I’m still in awe of the spectacle ‘Miss Americana’ puts on every few days in a new city. And, like one of Taylor’s exes, has me smiling as I reminisce about the memories of the night we spent together.

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

For a moment your world is spinning. The phone alarm has just scared you awake and you’re flooded by daunting thoughts of the day ahead. You have three assignments due and little time to work on them because of your job. You’re running late because you’ve hit snooze one to many times after yesterday’s long hours.
