Sizzle Bacon Eatery

Columbia’s newest restaurant is every bacon lover’s dream come true. Sizzle Bacon Eatery is a restaurant and bar unlike anything Columbia’s foodie scene has ever experienced before. It is dedicated solely to this mouth-watering meat that manages to find its way as an ingredient in each meal whether it be breakfast, lunch or dinner.

Located conveniently in the heart of Five Points on Harden St., Chef Gary Uwanawich and his business partner Matt Canyes had a vision for a different type of restaurant experience and that reality is finally open for business here in Columbia. This unique dining experience will open your palette to a multitude of bacon-themed dishes, desserts, and even cocktails.

The bacon at Sizzle Bacon Eatery will, for the most part, be locally sourced, but Uwanawich and Canyes will also be importing different kinds of bacon from around the world. It’s hard to believe that with a restaurant focused on bacon, that vegetarians could possibly be included in the mix of the delicious menu. However, Sizzle will feature a line of alternative soy bacon with vegetarians in mind—truly making Sizzle Bacon Eatery an enjoyable experience for all customers who are lucky enough to try it.

The menu features a plethora of bacon themed dishes and listed below are just a few choices that are sure to be a hit.

From the appetizers:

Totchos: A mix between the classic nachos featuring tater-tots, the tots are made crispy and golden topped with Chef Gary’s Award Winning Chili, cheddar cheese, fresh pico de gallo, and of course, bacon.

From the main menu:

Beefzilla- This sandwich is just as jam-packed as its name sounds with one of its main ingredients being a slow smoked beef brisket. This brisket is accompanied of course, by bacon, melted Gouda cheese, all drizzled with Sizzle’s signature Sizzle BBQ sauce served on delicious grilled Texas toast to hold this monster of a sandwich together.

The Sizzlin’ Chic- This chicken sandwich features “bacon breaded” chicken, tender buffalo sauce and imported blue cheese crumbles all served on one of Sizzle’s signature Sizzle buns.

The Gamecock- Obviously, we had to give a sneak peek into this Sizzle burger due to its famous name. This burger is a slow smoked beef brisket drizzled with Sizzle’s delicious, signature BBQ sauce and melted Gouda cheese.

From the dessert menu:

Sizzle’s Bacon Split- This ice cream split is unlike any that you’ve ever experienced before. With a yummy chocolate and vanilla ice cream base, this dish includes Caramel Sea Salt, whipped cream, toppings and the signature pieces—strips of bacon—perfected with a cherry on top.

The menu doesn’t stop with Sizzle’s food dishes, as the bar is fully stocked with unique bacon cocktails and drink specials as well:

Blue Bacontini- Sizzle puts its own twist on the classic martini, concocting this refreshing drink special with Van Gogh Blue Vodka, Vermouth and the signature bacon stuffed olives to top it off.

Bacon Bloody- This is yet another classic drink special with Sizzle’s special touch to make it unique. This drink is a bit heavier, and its ingredients include Homemade Bloody Mary Mix, Tito’s Handmade Vodka, as well as a thick Cut Bacon Strip and Sizzle’s bacon dust on the rim.

Sizzle Bacon Eatery is open from Sunday to Saturday from 11am to 10pm, while its bar area is open on Sunday to Saturday from 10am to 2am for those later nights. Stop in and try one of Sizzle’s unique dishes and try one of their many drink specials to accompany your delicious meal!
