It's no surprise that Hurricane Matthew threw all of us for a loop this past weekend. If you're anything like me, then you tried to power through the storms and make the best of it. I am grateful to say that my friends, my family, and I all made it through the hurricane safely. I hope the same goes for everyone out there that is reading this article. Without further ado, here's a little commentary on the events of this past weekend as told by our friends from the Broadway musical Hamilton.
.) The moment when the news is broken to you that a storm's a comin'... And you think you're ready.
.) The moment when you learn that class is cancelled...
.) When your friends are like, "Yo, you know you ain't actually ready."
.) So you start to formulate your survival plan...
.) So naturally things get a little crazy and you resort to buying ALL of the snacks...
.) The moment when you mentally prepare yourself for the storm to hit...
.) Then come the moment when you and your hurricane buddies lock the doors and take your places…
.) You begin to the wait for the storm to hit...
.) Then, of course, there's the moment when the pre-storm drinking begins...
.) Then the storm finally hits and everything seems chaotic...
.) So you try and act like the wind isn't scaring you, but you're actually terrified.
.) The moment when your lights flickers and so you stare at your light switch and say...
.) But then you realize that you've lost power and so you resort to lighting candles and saying things like this...
.) Then comes the moment of victory when the storm is finally over...
.) The moment when it hits you that you live in a coastal state and that hurricanes are a common occurrence...
.) But you push that thought aside and FINALLY celebrate the passing of the hurricane.
