We all have guilty pleasure songs. You know, the songs we secretly love but don't want to openly admit to. Or the songs we give a loud 'ugh' to every time we hear the opening note, yet end up belting out the lyrics as soon as they start playing. Many also just so happen to be featured in various movies. Yes, you know exactly what songs I'm talking about. If not, let me jog your memory a little.

1. "A Thousand Miles" by Vanessa Carlton

Did the piano intro sound as soon as you read that title? Or Terry Crews belting out the song emotionally in White Chicks? It's a classic.

2. "Bye Bye Bye" by NSYNC

I feel like everyone and their mother knows this song. No literally, your mom is probably the reason you know this song. But it's so great... and a relevant meme for many occasions.

3. "Beautiful Soul" by Jesse McCartney

... Unless it's Jesse McCartney's. Right?

4. "Wannabe" by Spice Girls

If you wanna be my lover, you have to know this song. Just don't get with my friends. Please.

5. "Chasing Cars" by Snow Patrol

What a one-hit wonder.

6. "Livin' la Vida Loca" by Ricky Martin

You remember this? That fabulous performance in Shrek 2? That Spanish song on mainstream radio before Pitbull?

7. "Pocketful of Sunshine" by Natasha Bedingfield

These gifs are literally me with every guilty pleasure song of mine. Especially this song.

8. "Too Little Too Late" by JoJo

The ultimate breakup song pre "The Potential Breakup Song" by Aly & AJ.

9. "Call Me Maybe" by Carly Rae Jepsen

This song is the definition of bubblegum bliss that you want to hate but can't help but love... or at least sing along.

10. "What Makes You Beautiful" by One Direction

This is the song that got them started, and even though it is incredibly cheesy, it's an incredible song to act out dramatically.

11. "Pieces of Me" by Ashlee Simpson

Well this one is quite the throwback to the early 2000s, when her and Pete Wentz from Fall Out Boy's relationship was all the rage and Hilary Duff and Chad Michael Murray were on the J-14 magazine covers.

12. "It Wasn't Me" by Shaggy

I guess I can't blame Shaggy for my problems.

13. "I Want It That Way" by Backstreet Boys

Tell me why... we don't have boybands with coordinated dance moves still?

14. "Baby" by Justin Bieber

The song name is ironic. Look how young he was. Fun fact: This music video became the most viewed (over 1 Billion views) and 'disliked' video on Youtube, too.

15. "Barbie Girl" by Aqua

I really thought this song was a joke growing up; turns out it was really real.

16. "Oops!... I Did It Again" by Britney Spears

I played with your emotions, you got lost in these songs. Hopefully some of these songs are on your personal guilty pleasure list. If you feel like reminiscing, a Spotify playlist with these songs can be found here.

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
