One of Ernest Hemingway's most well-known works is also his shortest. It is said that the writer was once "dared" to craft a six-word short story to try and move people in such few words. For Sale: Baby shoes. Never worn showed the world that the most influential pieces of writing don't have to be the size of a book.
Based off of Hemingway's six-word story, I have complied a few of my own six-word memoirs.
I am more than six words.
Believe what you see not hear.
People are more than what's visible.
She sees invisibility as a power.
Shoes were new but worn out.
If I could then I would.
I promise this is my best.
All I can do is try.
Why is walking away so hard?
Hurt but I can't look away.
It hurts but I can't feel.
I'm constantly feeling painfully numb.
I'm a sentence, not a number.
Feeling everything and nothing at once.
I just need a little space.
How could something right feel wrong?
Feeling right sometimes hurts you too.
I am running. Time is too.
Window drawings end up faded.
I promise I care a lot.
Some things are better left unsaid.
I'm constantly living in a nightmare.
I've finally realized I'm not sorry.
