6 Traits Of A Godly Woman

Sometimes, I am so painfully human. It is all too easy to fall victim to the things of this world, slipping in to insecurity, doubt, and fear. Sometimes I get so caught up in these things that I can feel myself start to lose sight of the God that lovingly sculpted each of my steps. But, he knows just how far from perfect I am, and yet He loves me anyway. Grace Himself knows my whole heart, and knows my longing for Him, and my desire to live my life in a way that reflects more of Him than of myself. So I’m praying that the Lord would instill and strengthen these traits in me. Here are some tell-tale signs of a Godly woman that I’m praying the Lord imprints on my heart.

Lord make me a woman who...

1. Speaks kindness and wisdom.

"She opens her mouth with wisdom, and the teaching of kindness is on her tongue." -Psalm 31:16

"Kind words are like honey, sweet to the soul and healthy for the body." - Proverbs 16:23

2. Craves things of the word and not of the world.

"Behold, I am the servant of the Lord; let it be to me according to your word." Luke 1:38

"Set you minds on things above, not on earthly things." - Colossians 3:2

3. Knows her worth in your eyes.

"You are precious in my eyes, and honored, and I love you." - Isaiah 43:4

"She is more precious than rubies." - Proverbs 3:15

"I have loved you with an everlasting love, I have drawn you with unfailing kindness" - Jeremiah 31:3

4. Pursues humility.

"Do justice, love mercy, walk humbly." - Micha 6:8

"Do nothing of selfish ambition, but in humility consider others better than yourselves." - Philippians 2:3

"Do not use your freedom to indulge, but serve one another humbly in love." - Galatians 5:13

5. Trusts you wholeheartedly.

"Blessed is she who has believed that the Lord would fulfill his promises to her." - Luke 1:45

"I shall walk by faith even when I cannot see." 2 Corinthians 5:7

"He who began a good work in you will be faithful to complete it." - Philippians 1:6

6. Seeks to serve you.

"I seek you with my whole heart, do not let me stray from your commandments." - Psalm 119:10

"Whatever you do, work at it with your whole heart, as working for the Lord, not for men." - Colassians 3:23

This is my prayer, that each day I would live bringing glory to God. I am so imperfect, but thank the Lord for His grace and love, that he still chooses me every single day. Every day He wants to know me intimately and love me deeply. And how beautiful that he gave us hearts designed to desire Him in the same way. So here I am Lord; make me a woman after your own heart.

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
