After getting past the fun events of early winter like Christmas and New Years, the winter season appears to be never-ending. That can be especially true on a college campus for six simple reasons.
1. The campus has probably never looked worse.
Instead of the beautiful green grass and flowers blooming, everything is dark, gloomy, grey and dingy.
2. Walking to class in the bitter cold actually feels like your death sentence.
You never realize how long that 20-minute walk is until you are doing it in negative degree weather.
3. Even on snow days, your professors still send you work.
I totally understand that I'm a college student and need to complete a course load. Oftentimes, though, the professor doubles the workload since they've apparently never experienced snow before and fear not being able to finish because of one day.
4. The stretch from January to April, when things finally start to warm up, seems like a million miles.
It's really hard not to yearn for 70-degree days when it's freezing outside.
5. You get random warm days that get your hopes up.
50-degree weather for a few days, then it drops right back to 12 degrees.
6. Wearing 15 layers of clothing to class and basically unpacking your closet every time you get into your seat.
