As I came to college at Iowa State University, I didn't think there would be much of a difference between things that we say or how we pronounce things, but I've have been yelled at far too many times. Who knew that being just a state away would be so different. Here are a few of the things my fellow Iowans have yelled at me for since being here these past two months.
1. Calling a Scotcharoo a Special K Bar
You know those tasty bars made of rice krispies and chocolate on top? Yeah it's called a Special K Bar.
2. Pronouncing ant as aunt
Ant is a bug, aunt is someone that is sisters with one of your parents.
3. Calling it Taco in a Bag instead of a Walking Taco
You might be walking, but the taco isn't.
4. Wearing Crocs
Because they're the comfiest thing in the world and easy to slip on.
5. Calling it hot dish instead of casserole
It's been called hot dish since the day I was born.
6. Saying Duck Duck Gray Duck instead of Duck Duck Goose
Personally I think Duck Duck Grey Duck has a better ring to it, but whatever.
